Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day bus to Buckingham , then Bicester and back , coffee stops and when I get home a Chinese take away later.
My Bus schedules will change in 2 weeks time ,as we are getting a direct bus to Bicester , but I think I will miss what I do now .
Mick

Oops! West coast...

Hi there CanadianGran! What’s your line of work doing the graveyard shift? Where are you in Canada - it’s a BIG place!
?

CanadianGran Sat 04-Jan-20 13:21:57

Good morning from west coast Canada. It's just 5:15 am; I am working the graveyard shift and it is very quiet which gives me time to catch up with this group.

Bellasnona - so sorry to hear your news, what a horrible shock to the poor wife.

Congrats to GG13, yay a new babe to cuddle!

I shall sleep for about 4 hours after work, then power through the rest of my day. A friend is having a ladies group for a late afternoon visit, and it is my DH's birthday so I will either make him a nice dinner or take him out. His choice.

Hubby will be busy watching World Juniors Hockey, Canada is in semi finals against Finland, and trying not to shout while I sleep!

Have a good day everyone.

Yes NannyJan 53, they did do the"Cheap flights" sketch and it was just as funny! They said the song went"fungal"!!! ?
Lots of new, very current material as well. Still smiling about it xxx

Lovely news Grannygravy, congratulations to all.??

Applegran Sat 04-Jan-20 12:32:34

Hello everyone from Somerset - DH and I are just back from an hours walk in the countryside with some sunshine and no rain - lovely! I don't usually look at this thread and have loved what I've read today - all seems kind and ready to hear others' needs with insight and care. Thank you.

NannyJan53 Sat 04-Jan-20 12:32:20

Congratulations GG13 on the birth of your grandson, what a lovely start to the New Year for your family.

What a relief NanKate, lucky you went to the Hospital though. Hope you feel better soon.

Conor we saw Fascinating Aida* about 7 years ago. Very funny! Did they do the sketch on 'Cheap Flights'?

Off shortly to Mums birthday meal, little speech all prepared!

Urmstongran Sat 04-Jan-20 11:56:21

Hope you feel better soon now NanKate. A huge dollop of reassurance works wonders doesn’t it?

As with Marydoll the NHS, there when we need it, free at the point of worry, is a true blessing.

NanKate Sat 04-Jan-20 11:48:04

Hello again and thanks for the kind messages.

All sorted at the hospital and they confirm pleurisy but think I only need painkillers as it is on its way out.

What fabulous news GG congratulations. ?

vinasol Sat 04-Jan-20 11:13:13

Good morning everyone.

Nothing much planned for today. Returned from a lovely overnight stay in Balmaha yesterday and need to catch up with washing. Will pick up my mum's dosset box at the pharmacy, then will buy stuff to make spag bol for dinner.

Have a nice day all.

Urmstongran Sat 04-Jan-20 11:09:37

Hi to the newbies - ??

And Bellasnonna I am so very sorry to hear of your tragic news. That poor woman waiting for her husband to appear with their car. I can only imagine how distraught she must be and how shocking for you all to. Life is cruel sometimes. x

Good morning from a sunny Essex. Didn't recognise what that was in the sky as so long since we saw it here!
Lovely evening in London yesterday to see "Fascinating Aida" Very funny show and my sides hurt from laughing. Definitely aimed at ladies of a certain age and a bit close to the mark on occasions but worth going to see when they go on national tour this year. Thinking of everyone with both happy and sad news today. Life is really a roller-coaster but so glad we can share on this lovely, supportive post. ???Xxx

Congratulations GrannyGravy13 lovely news.

gillybob Sat 04-Jan-20 09:43:51

Good morning from a very windy North East coast where we had another beautiful sunrise.

We had a bit of a mixed bag kind of night with DH up and down as usual (not to mention this bleedin’tooth) but I think I managed to get a few hours in. As usual DH is sleeping soundly now and I am enjoying my 3rd cuppa.

So sorry to hear the tragic news about your friends husband Bellasnana . Poor poor man and what an awful start to the New Year for you.

A warm welcome to this friendly Good Morning thread to Sark and lovingit62 hope to see you both posting regularly.

I hope you get sorted NanKate and they manage to get on top of the cough before it turns really nasty.

To Marydoll, Lins, dragonfly Urmstongran and anyone else feeling poorly or under the weather I hope you all feel better soon.

I am trying to find something (anything?) to look forward to in the coming weeks, months, years but can’t seem to get out of this awful dark mood that I am in. Desperately seeking sunshine smile

Have a good Saturday everyone .

Love Gilly x

Bellasnanna how dreadfully sad thanks

Marydoll onwards and upwards on new meds thanks

Urmstongran hope you feel better soon, I could do with shifting a few pounds.

Welcome Sark

Well I am one exhausted Gran, all day in delivery suite, GS arrived at 20.53 Mum and Baby fine, Daddy and I are exhausted.

Mr.Gravy had “big brother” here, but he woke up at 5am this morning straight into me (he usually wakes 7.30-8 am).

Have a good Saturday (Sorry for rambling)

Auntieflo Sat 04-Jan-20 09:31:53

Good morning Michael, Annie and all.
I am still in bed ?, but have had my morning cuppa, and a visit from DGS, to see if I am OK. He is staying with DS and DIL, just from yesterday, until later today, I think.
Much as I love them, I am glad to have the house back to ourselves when all have returned home.
We shall probably go out for a coffee later and a look around the shops.
Bellasnana, it's lovely to see you posting again, but I was so sad to read about your friend's DH. What an awful shock.
Well, I suppose I should go and see about breakfast. It will be in relays I think.
Best wishes to the Gillybobs, and all who have been poorly.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning everyone,

It's a grey, dull and slightly breezy morning here today but dry for now.

So sorry to hear your sad news, Bellasnana - such a terrible thing to happen and a shock for you all.

Welcome Sark and lovingit62. I think you'll find this thread a friendly one to post on.

A few jobs to tackle today, including dismantling the tree and putting it away for another year. I know it's not quite 12th night, but I need DH to help with storing it away and he's back at work shortly.

We had a lovely run out to Filey on Thursday for fish and chips. Didn't think we were going to get any because a lot of places were still closed until yesterday or had run out of fish. Luckily we did find somewhere and had a lovely meal. Fish and chips somehow taste nicer at the seaside, don't they? ?

I do hope those of you feeling unwell feel better soon, and marydoll crossed fingers that the new medication suits you better.

Take care all.

Americanpie Sat 04-Jan-20 09:25:00

Good morning all,
a cloudy damp day here on the west coast of Scotland. Hubby not surfaced yet as we had a night of tossing and turning and he will be catching up. Hopefully it'll stay dry enough to get the outside lights down and into storage until we do it all again next December. At least its a little lighter in the afternoons now and no longer dark at 4. Have a good day everyone.
