Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but its dry here in Brackley this morning.
Usual day bus to Buckingham , then Bicester and back , coffee stops and when I get home a Chinese take away later.
My Bus schedules will change in 2 weeks time ,as we are getting a direct bus to Bicester , but I think I will miss what I do now .

Good Morning from another mild Black Country. It was glorious blues skies all day yesterday.

Mum had a good birthday, her sister came over from Telford, lots of phone calls. I took her to lunch in my DD's village, then spent time with them playing games with 2 of my DGD's/

Today is the family meal, there will be 16 of us.

Bellasanana that is so heart breaking to have happened, so sorry and sad for your friend.

Welcome to GN Sark this is a lovely friendly thread.

flowers for NanKate I hope you get the treatment you need and feel better soon.

Best wishes too to Marydoll hope you feel better soon. Thoughts too with gilly Dragonfly and Lins

Scentia my youngest was 41 two weeks ago! Now that makes me feel old!

Pantglas2 Sat 04-Jan-20 08:43:34

Morning all from a damp north Wales where the wild mountain ponies have just wandered down through the village - first time this winter and usually a sign of really bad weather to come!

Off to Llandudno this morning for a few bits and pieces and coffee with DD if she’s free. Hope everyone is starting to feel better after their various lurgies and treatments and enjoys the weekend. Sad to hear about your friends DH Bellasnana flowers

Good morning everyone the sun is trying to shine on norfolk. BELLASNANA what a terrible thing to happen, your friend is in my prayers. Garden Centre later this morning I am going to buy DH lunch in the lovely cafe. He is retired but has spent the last six weeks standing in for others so they could take their holidays, he deserves a treat. Hope you soon feel better MARYDOLL

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cold, dark but dry South Yorkshire. We both had a bit of a broken night so will be taking it easy today. I have a couple of phone calls to make to people I didn’t manage to catch up with over the holiday. If I’m honest, I don’t care for the phone!
Bellasnana what a truly awful shock for your friend; my heart goes out to her.
Sark welcome and many good mornings to come!
Have a good day, folks.

lovingit62 Sat 04-Jan-20 09:03:40

Good morning all from a cloudy and windy West Lothian. This is my first ever post as well @Sark and am looking forward to chatting with you all.

My DW and my first DGD was born 6 weeks ago and we both retired 3 weeks ago so everything is a bit new to us at the moment but so far, we are having a ball.

lavenderzen Sat 04-Jan-20 09:06:11

Good morning everyone from a dark and dreary Derbyshire. Hope the weather is better for others.

Lins1066 Sat 04-Jan-20 09:07:19

Good Morning Mick and all. Cloudy here too on the S Welsh coast. I slept more last night than I have for a long time, still in bed with a cuppa.
Managed a walk yesterday afternoon and saw a lovely sunset. Thanks to the NHS and the wonderful back brace they gave me making such an outing possible, glad it is winter though so that a coat hides it! Thank you for your good wishes NannyJan.
An awful tragedy for your friend Bella.
Hope your new meds do the trick * Marydoll*, take care.
Welcome Sark.
Hope everyone will have a good day.

harrigran Sat 04-Jan-20 09:08:14

Good morning from a dry but very windy NE.
A quiet weekend for us I think, family wined and dined over Christmas and New year and then they depart.
Such sad news Bellasnana, it takes a lot to get over a shock like that.
Thinking of the gillybobs and others with problems.
Good news Marydoll about your meds.

harrigran Sat 04-Jan-20 09:10:04

Welcome to Sark, when I first saw your name I wondered whether you were from the island, then read on.

Harris27 Sat 04-Jan-20 09:15:47

What dreadful news Bellanana so sorry to hear. That’s good service marydoll I’ve had good service too from the healthteam I attend. But it’s nice to hear. Well it’s a cold day in the ne. But dry. I will do some shopping today at Aldi and then home. This evening we are invited to my sisters for a meal so will enjoy that. Love to all who are struggling at the moment and have nice day to others who are busy.

Marydoll Sat 04-Jan-20 09:16:44

Welcome, lovingit62!
You may wish to meet up with the Edinburgh Grans, when you get to know us better. smile

GrannySomerset Sat 04-Jan-20 09:19:25

DD, SiL and DGD bustling about getting ready to drive north after a very happy short visit. Yesterday included easy lunch for nine as DS and tribe joined us and then DD, DGD and I had a lovely cinema trip to see Little Women which is absolutely wonderful. We sniffed and smiled the whole way through, and DD shed the odd tear and we agreed that the film was a wonderful reflection of Alcott’s books with something extra. If you loved Little Women don’t miss it.

Hope today brings health improvements for Marydoll (good news about the meds), Gilly and Mr Gilly, Lins, Dragonfly and all feeling thoroughly under the weather. I have a day of bed stripping and laundry so may need reviving later.

Nannytopsy Sat 04-Jan-20 09:20:35

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Welcome Sark & Lovinit62. I have been down and made coffee but brought it back to bed. DH is still fast asleep. Suffolk has some cloud and some patches of blue sky, so a good day I think. Today we are shifting furniture ready for the return of the builders on Monday plus overnight visitors. Moving to the country has meant lots of that!
Hope you have good days.

Urmstongran Sat 04-Jan-20 09:22:30

This is SUCH a busy thread now isn’t it? It’s only just after 9am and already there are almost 40 posts! I shall read them with my cuppa or it will be 10am before I post!
?

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where again it’s dry and mild. I think we have had very pleasant weather here since before Christmas. It did rain a little yesterday but not much.

I was reading about the fires around Sydney yesterday - it’s very scary.

No plans today but I must make an effort to get dressed and go out today. This stomach bug has left me nauseous and I have only been eating small meals. I have lost half a stone since Christmas. Anyway I go for my bloods on Tuesday. I hope all is well - I admit to feeling a little anxious.

I hope Saturday (how on Earth!) is kind to us all whether we have any plans or none. x

Good morning all,
a cloudy damp day here on the west coast of Scotland. Hubby not surfaced yet as we had a night of tossing and turning and he will be catching up. Hopefully it'll stay dry enough to get the outside lights down and into storage until we do it all again next December. At least its a little lighter in the afternoons now and no longer dark at 4. Have a good day everyone.

Mapleleaf Sat 04-Jan-20 09:25:07

Good morning everyone,

It's a grey, dull and slightly breezy morning here today but dry for now.

So sorry to hear your sad news, Bellasnana - such a terrible thing to happen and a shock for you all.

Welcome Sark and lovingit62. I think you'll find this thread a friendly one to post on.

A few jobs to tackle today, including dismantling the tree and putting it away for another year. I know it's not quite 12th night, but I need DH to help with storing it away and he's back at work shortly.

We had a lovely run out to Filey on Thursday for fish and chips. Didn't think we were going to get any because a lot of places were still closed until yesterday or had run out of fish. Luckily we did find somewhere and had a lovely meal. Fish and chips somehow taste nicer at the seaside, don't they? ?

I do hope those of you feeling unwell feel better soon, and marydoll crossed fingers that the new medication suits you better.

Take care all.

Good morning Michael, Annie and all.
I am still in bed ?, but have had my morning cuppa, and a visit from DGS, to see if I am OK. He is staying with DS and DIL, just from yesterday, until later today, I think.
Much as I love them, I am glad to have the house back to ourselves when all have returned home.
We shall probably go out for a coffee later and a look around the shops.
Bellasnana, it's lovely to see you posting again, but I was so sad to read about your friend's DH. What an awful shock.
Well, I suppose I should go and see about breakfast. It will be in relays I think.
Best wishes to the Gillybobs, and all who have been poorly.
Have a good day one and all.

gillybob Sat 04-Jan-20 09:43:51

Good morning from a very windy North East coast where we had another beautiful sunrise.

We had a bit of a mixed bag kind of night with DH up and down as usual (not to mention this bleedin’tooth) but I think I managed to get a few hours in. As usual DH is sleeping soundly now and I am enjoying my 3rd cuppa.

So sorry to hear the tragic news about your friends husband Bellasnana . Poor poor man and what an awful start to the New Year for you.

A warm welcome to this friendly Good Morning thread to Sark and lovingit62 hope to see you both posting regularly.

I hope you get sorted NanKate and they manage to get on top of the cough before it turns really nasty.

To Marydoll, Lins, dragonfly Urmstongran and anyone else feeling poorly or under the weather I hope you all feel better soon.

I am trying to find something (anything?) to look forward to in the coming weeks, months, years but can’t seem to get out of this awful dark mood that I am in. Desperately seeking sunshine smile

Have a good Saturday everyone .

Love Gilly x
