Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, it has been wet overnight here in Brackley this morning.
Today, somewhat busy , a quick weekly shop for essentials like milk , and I have to vacate my flat so the electricians can come in and renew the smoke alarm system, this means approx. 2 hours siting in the building open lounge , whilst they do the work, and then once done back into my routine for today.

Good Morning Friday
(95 Posts)Goodmorning Michael and all who follow, still in sunny Kenya.
Going out for lunch with our son and his wife to a restaurant called The Trout Tree, apparently it is built round/in an enormous tree.
Wishing you all a "Fab Friday"
Sending love and kind wishes to gillybob and her husband.
Good Morning to you both and to those who follow. It's dark here in Fife but I think also damp. Have our 2 x DGS's today one all day one half day then nursery. Up early to get organised for the day. Needless to say our day will be dictated by DGS's but that's fine it just flies in. Lunch yesterday with friends was very enjoyable, good too catch up. Hope everyone's day goes well. Thinking of all with problems and of course thinking of gilly and her DH, hope things are improving.. Have a good day all.
Good Morning everyone.
Damp and dark on Severnside.
I like the name of the restaurant you are going to GrannyGravy.
Shopping this morning and then I might go to buy a camping gaz tube and if I do will take a ride to look at the autumn colours. FaceTime with my sister iL later.
Don’t be cross with yourself for laughing gilly it’s good for you.
Whatever you feel like let’s hope that everyone can find some
laughter today ??
Morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.
I have some phone calls to do today and a trip to Waitrose and the florist.
Both DH and I are still suffering the after effects of the cold we had so afternoons are a bit of a write off!
Love to gillybob - hopefully onward and upward.
marydoll - sit down!
dragonfly hope you are feeling a little better
Ohh it’s wet and dark and ‘orrible here in Spain folks! Never mind, last minute cleaning and tidying up, late lunch then meet friends for goodbye drinks before early to bed and home to Wales tomorrow- phew, I’m pooped already!
Kenya sounds lovely grannygravy13- enjoy your meal and rest of your holiday. Hope there’s more good news from Gillybob (and laughter) and everyone has a lovely day to start the weekend off x
Good morning all from a positively balmy Glasgow, it's 5C/41F.
A night of weird dreams, houses being built in the field right next to my house, the sales agent daring to park her Cerise pink car across my drive and me having to drive through tress, across a muddy field full of diggers to get out of my driveway. Phew! I'm exhausted.
Bits and pieces to do today, a wee bit of supermarket shopping sans DH, who now has to wait in for his Christmas beer ?delivery, we need to get our priorities right!!!
.
I plan to write my Christmas cards, the labels are already printed. This will be a first for me, despite my good intentions, I'm usually doing them at the last minute. Not wanted to be rushing at the last minute when we get back from NY, I'm trying to be organised. Easier, said than done!!
Good to read a lighter poster from Gilly yesterday, I hope she is looking after herself and there are more signs of improvement today.
I hope this day is a good one for all those feeling under the weather and with worries.
I laughed at yesterday's thread, when we realised that there are a number of teachers on here, I know for a fact that there are more to come out of the woodwork!.
Morning Mick Kitty and all.
Last morning in charge of the boys. Fortunately it has been uneventful, just how we like it ( no hospital dashes this time). It’s hard getting up up 6.45 to get the whole breakfast routine underway. Today it’s a miracle they are still asleep, hence being on my IPad.
I just want to get home now to my own bed and a lie in. ?
Gilly please have a laugh when you can, you need it big time. Thank you for keeping us informed. We are a caring lot on this thread. ?
Kitty, I will sit down when I get back!!
Morning Mary from another fellow teacher. ??
Good morning all. All I can report at the moment is it’s still dark, but, a possible raise in temperature here in Glasgow.
Decorators possibly finished today, everything put in place but pretty sure I will be spending the weekend trying to remember where I safely put smaller bits and pieces. ?
10 year old GD is off on a school trip to the Scottish Parliament today with her mummy, DD1, as an assistant.
Unless decorators suddenly run out of paint I have no plans to go out today?
Have a pleasant day all, strength and good wishes for those who are dealing with struggles.
Many positive vibes for you gilly?
Good morning from a rainy Birmingham. My two year old grandson stayed with me last night, to give him mother a bit of a break, since he has been ill and waking with a cough in the wee hours. She just had the two week old baby to care for last night. Fortunately my grandson slept through until 6.45, so it seems he is on the mend. Will try to get him to eat some breakfast this morning. My three year old grandaughter will be here around 8.30, which will cheer him up. If he is well enough we are all going to the Edgbaston Christmas lights switch on this evening- Father Christmas, real reindeers, and street food from a Michelin starred restaurant!
I hope it is as good a day as possible for everyone.
And another retired teacher here! So glad I don't have to venture out to a classroom this morning!
Good morning everyone from a dark and damp Northampton. Hope it's not so cold today; I froze yesterday picking up DGD from school.
Off to the hairdressers this morning; should have been yesterday, but had to be re-arranged because my girl called in sick.
Then home for a quick lunch, and then to Sainsbury's/M&S Food for a top-up shop.
Thinking of Gillybob and all with worries.
Morning Mick, morning All from a gloomy, damp corner of Somerset. Plan to get to grips with Christmas ‘stuff’ today in the hope I will then be able to see the spare bed. Also have an about to run out voucher for a free photo book, it will take hours and I’m totally unenthusiastic but feel I should do it. Not sure I will though. Love to gilly, laugh if you can, it’s a good thing. Take it steady maryd, you too dragonfly. Hope Friday is kind to everyone.
Good morning everyone from a damp Essex by the sea. We are both up early this morning after a disturbed night, him coughing mainly !!!
I'm off to get my car cleaned inside and out this morning , the guys that clean it do a great job, then I shall drive on to S.......y to do some food shopping and have a look round. This afternoon I'm planning on starting a new puzzle.
Best wishes to all who are under the weather and obviously to Gilly and her H.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning from Kent.
Plumber can't come until Monday so we've had to bring the small heater in from DH's workshop to put on the landing. Thank heavens for the fire in the lounge. How did we cope back in the day when you woke to ice on the inside of the windows.
Have a good day everyone. Thinking of those that are poorly or troubled.
Good morning everyone from Malaga. You are so right Pantglas the weather here is still awful! It rained non stop yesterday and through the night. It’s still at it now. Ah well, sunshine is forecast over the weekend. Enjoy this afternoon with your friends Pantglas and safe journey home tomorrow.
Your holiday with your son in Kenya sounds pretty amazing GG13 and as for you DoraMarr your day sounds pretty fantastic - grandchildren and amazing food - what’s not to like? Hope your grandson is well enough for what you plan.
Such a lovely wish that all of us manage to have a laugh today Beechnut
Thinking of you gillybob and sending my very best wishes for further signs of improvement in your dear husband.
Hope Friday is kind to us all whether we have any plans or (like me) none - until it stops chucking it down anyway! x
Good Morning from a brighter Black Country.
Today I am off to to meet a friend for lunch. Our mutual friend who moved to Lincs 2 years ago is meeting us. The first friend has no idea she is coming, so will be a very happy surprise for her. Then my Lincs friend is coming back here to stay overnight. Will be a lovely day as I last saw her in May.
I wasn't a Teacher, but my daughter is
Positive thoughts to gilly today, please do not be annoyed with yourself for laughing. You obviously needed it!
Good morning from North Yorkshire where it is raining again after a few dry days.

I will miss seeing her in Edinburgh.
Good morning all and fellow ex teachers from a grey Leicestershire.
Absolutely nothing planned today for a change so a well needed day of rest. Since I have discovered the merits of Ocado life has been much simpler.
Hope you all have a great day and Mr Gillybob continues to improve and Gillybob laughs again.

Two ex teachers in our house! DH only retired in July and still has the occasional panic on waking that he isn’t prepared for the day.
Bright and dry here in Suffolk - I am hoping to paint the wooden door sill if the wood is dry enough.
Have a good day everyone, particularly the Gillybobs.
