Good Morning Everyone, Its dark, it has been wet overnight here in Brackley this morning. Today, somewhat busy , a quick weekly shop for essentials like milk , and I have to vacate my flat so the electricians can come in and renew the smoke alarm system, this means approx. 2 hours siting in the building open lounge , whilst they do the work, and then once done back into my routine for today. Mick
Very late onto the thread this morning, but been up and busy. It's wet in Cheshire, (could that lovely word 'dreich' be how the Scots would describe it?) but I did manage a relaxing/chatty walk in the woods with my neighbours and dogs. The colours are stunning and the trees absolutely still today, but many are now just dark skeletons against the sky. Winter!
Having a misted window panel replaced today, then over to do shopping for my housebound friend. She called me at 1.55 a.m. last night, as she'd nodded off and woke up thinking it was still evening!
So good to hear your news Gilly, all the little steps are setting him along the way to recovery now. Dragonfly and Marydoll take good care of yourselves.
What cheering news Gillybob. Long may it continue. Maybe you can allow yourself just a little time for yourself. Maybe a cup of coffee or something a bit stronger!! Gabriella. It would be great if you do not leave. There are people on here from all different backgrounds and walks of life and this forum would be poorer without you. If you want to say something controversial then say it but bear in mind an old saying that my husband likes(who is Jewish)- 3 Jews and 35 opinions. I think that this sums up this forum. So with this in mind please reconsider.
So pleased Gillybob to hear your good news - hope you have a great weekend and Mr Gillybob continues to make progress. Time for you to have a little rest and relaxation!
Good afternoon everyone from a wet, windy, dark and miserable country across the North Sea.Its a staying in day today.I hope everyone has a nice weekend.
Pleased to read your latest post Gilly. Things are looking much more positive now. You will need to try and look after yourself, ready for when MrGilly returns home.
There will be many challenges ahead, but you will get there.
Not Good morning, but just to say I am sorry that Gabriella G is leaving. Having read the post she started I can understand why; the sheer nastiness of the comments on the last few pages over such a trivial subject are unbelievable. I am sorry to raise this here but as she posted her reasons for leaving on this thread it seems to be the appropriate place to comment.
gillybob that sounds like a positive turning point I am so very pleased for you and your DH. It's wet and miserable here so it is good to get some brighter news from the North
Oh Gilly what wonderful news, I'm so pleased your DH seems to have turned a corner. Yes it will still be many weeks, maybe months, before he is fully recovered, but he is, at last, going in the right direction. I can't tell you how happy I am for you
Good news indeed Gillybob! When your husband finally leaves ICU, be prepared for him not remembering anything about being in there. My husband spent just over 4 months in there, and couldn`t remember ever being in there, when we went back a few months after leaving hospital, they took him up to ICU, but it all seemed completely new to him. The staff said that it happens all the time. Anyway, onwards and upwards now, albeit slowly. All the best from me.
GabriellaG54 I don't blame you at all. Many of the comments on your "toilet" post were rude and hurtful. More like schoolground bullying than mature opinions.
I didn't agree with many of your remarks but wouldn't it be a dull world if we all were the same? You certainly made GN interesting. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and I wish you well for next year.
