I dare say we're not the only GPs like this.
Dd and SiL have always been so soft with putting Gdcs (still pre-schoolers) to bed - endlessly sitting with them, lying with them, etc., so that every night it's a long drawn out nightmare. Dd and Sil hardly ever have any time to themselves in the evening, and frequently fall asleep with one or the other.
We are often here to help, since dd has to go away for work now and then, and every night it's the same old saga - after the usual 2 or 3 stories, one or the other, or both, crying until someone goes and sits or lies with them until they finally fall asleep.
Dd and SiL have admitted that it's their own fault - they they know they need to be tougher (they know very well that many of their friends are) but just can't seem to do it - at least not for more than a night or two, so that soon it's the same old saga again.
I've long given up saying anything, but gosh, it's so frustrating when you are pretty sure that maybe a week of really consistent firmness would resolve the problem. Gdcs are otherwise (on the whole!) delightful, but I'm sure properly enforced bedtimes would be better for them, not to mention for their hardworking, often very tired parents.

Does there need to be a new by-election rule?
Has anyone tried making resin decorations for the garden? Hi everyone,
