I'm a north London girl and it placed me in Cambridge in a sweep right across to the Bristol Channel!

I've just done the quiz qnd it's accurate for me. ie mostly around Newcastle on Tyne plus a big Hull influence.
I lived in Hull for 20+ years of my adult life.

I got Luton,Cardiff and Taunton I’ve lived in London all my life.?

It placed me in the highlands whereas I was born and brought up near St. Andrews.

Placed me between Gloucester and Taunton. I live in Bristol but was brought up in Gloucestershire.

London and Norwich which is accurate as born and spent half my life in London but have lived in East Anglia for last three decades.

I had no map either. The small maps that showed where the words for different things eg. bap, bun were accurate though. I was brought up in North East Cumberland, almost into Northumberland.

It wasn't quite fair of me to do this. My DF was in the army. In my childhood I lived in London, Carlisle, South Yorkshire, Hong Kong (American English), Singapore and Berkshire. As an adult: Newcastle, London, Berkshire

The test showed my vocabulary as coming from a broad sweep of territory from Norfolk to Surrey with concentrations in Norfolk, Cambridge and Essex-London-Surrey. Where the bias towards East Anglia/home counties, north of the Thames comes from I have no idea. No family connections there at all. My parents were both brought up in South London

There was a soft haze of colour over the Northeast, where I went to University and a lighter haze over South Wales and Somerset, another area I have no connections with.

Interestingly nothing marked in Ireland despite having two Irish grandparents, one on each side.

No map. Just a sadface smiley. So many of them weren't right. I would say "skive" not "skive off" and for many of them my word wasn't in the list. My son says he met someone when he was backpacking in Canada who could place not only his accent (born in Germany but grew up bilingual) but could also locate the accent that he had picked up through me as Suffolk. Spot on and most amazing.

They got me right even though there's a massive difference between the way people in Cambridge speak to those in Southend so they cast a wide net. Londoners can tell whether I'm from North or South London and would never think I was from Cambridge.

I was shown to be from Taunton/Portsmouth. I was brought up in Bristol from age 2, but heard dialect at home from my family who lived most of their lives in Leicestershire but had moved to Bristol.

So a bit inaccurate.

It didn't seem to know where to place me, the map was blank!

Spot on! I think it was the term "cob", for a bread roll, that did it!

It certainly put me in Yorkshire - just the wrong bit of Yorkshire!
