An Australian magazine has published an article saying that Charles and Camilla are about to announce their divorce. Apparently they haven’t been seen together for sometime.
Speculation or not?

BlueBelle Sat 12-Jan-19 22:20:29

What a load of xxxx they seem very close

Anniebach Sat 12-Jan-19 22:23:52

I don’t believe it, they are 70, seem very happy together. After all they went through after the divorce. If they have problems they certainly wouldn’t divorce , queenie wouldn’t allow it.

Hogwash!

Bagatelle Sat 12-Jan-19 22:26:48

It's rubbish. Fake news.

MawBroon Sat 12-Jan-19 22:28:50

Rubbish!

EllanVannin Sat 12-Jan-19 22:29:07

Yes, indeed fake news. No way will the pair of them ever part. Camilla's in a strong position.

merlotgran Sat 12-Jan-19 22:33:04

I read she's been unwell with a heavy cold and that's why she wasn't at any of the Sandringham appearances.

We all know what it's like trying to shake off the winter lurgy.

For a country which often toys with the idea of republicanism, some Australians seem peculiarly obsessed with the monarchy.

Yes, hogwash!

Here's their 2018 Christmas card:
I don't think they're that good at acting.

MissAdventure Sat 12-Jan-19 22:42:36

I'm no fan, but they have always looked as if they belong together.

Jalima1108 Sat 12-Jan-19 22:45:01

They do, don't they, MissA

Jalima1108 Sat 12-Jan-19 22:46:21

Apparently they haven’t been seen together for sometime.
Thank goodness DH went with me to Sainsbury's on Friday - otherwise people might have started talking
shock

pensionpat Sat 12-Jan-19 23:33:09

I’m not a royalist but imo this couple are living happily ever after.

MissAdventure Sat 12-Jan-19 23:47:42

Charles has never looked better, or more relaxed since he has been with 'her' smile

Bigred18 Sun 13-Jan-19 02:17:59

That came from a mag called New Idea! In Oz we call it No Idea as they just make up stories.

holdingontometeeth Sun 13-Jan-19 02:24:03

Making up stories?
Well I never .......

BlueBelle Sun 13-Jan-19 05:00:46

And this from a country that caused a woman to commit suicide over a fake Royal story
I think they need to keep their fake news to themselves
What a lovely Christmas card Jalima I hadn’t seen it before

I live in Australia so I do speak from experience. Australian's don't "toy with the idea of republicanism" - we had one referendum on the subject - in 1989 ! Thirty years ago, the answer was NO and the subject hasn't been revisited since.

I'm not sure that Australians are obsessed with the Monarchy . The country is part of the British Commonwealth and our Head of State is HM The Queen, just like Britain . I guess we have just as much interest in the Monarchy as anyone else does.

The "trash magazines" print rubbish like the story mentioned in this post - I'm sure that British magazines print similar stories .

oldgaijin Sun 13-Jan-19 09:40:13

Absolute Tosh!

Blinko Sun 13-Jan-19 09:45:02

Why is it that adults can't seem to separate fact from garbage? If the story appeared in a trashy mag, then it's likely to be rubbish. Or have I got that wrong?

EllanVannin Sun 13-Jan-19 09:49:41

I don't suppose Australia is any worse than the UK for Monarchy " bashing " because our own media watch their every move like hawks waiting to pounce on an unsuspecting Royal who happens to look " the wrong way ".

dragonfly46 Sun 13-Jan-19 09:49:50

Good pleased we are all in agreement! They must be pretty short of real news in Australia is all I can say.

I am not sure a British magazine would print a story as spurious as this.

Jalima1108 Sun 13-Jan-19 09:57:05

stella - apologies if I upset you!

Some of our Australian relatives often toy with the idea! I try not to get them started on the subject smile

I have seen some quite astonishing 'news' about the Royals when I've been in Australia, probably in that type of magazine.
They all seem to love Princess Mary, though.

harrigran Sun 13-Jan-19 10:01:16

Duke of Edinburgh hasn't been seen for some time, would they care to comment about the state of the Queen's marriage ?

trisher Sun 13-Jan-19 10:06:09

Isn't that the best thing about being Royal? Doesn't really matter who you are married to you don't need to be seen with or even see them that often.
