What time would you get out of bed?

Down to breakfast at 8.00 at the latest. Possibly earlier. We can stay in bed at home.

I would probably get up about 8 unless the coach tours necessitated an earlier start. Since retiring I usually wake up about 8.30 so that would be early for me but obviously wouldn't want to lie in and not get to see the sights.

Lots of tourists places don’t open till 10., but when somewhere like Florence, I like to have breakfast out people watching, so probably 8 am.

I like to be up by 8 whether at home or on holiday. Especially on holiday as I don't want to miss out on anything!

I like to be down for breakfast by 8:30 at the latest when I'm on holiday. So If probably get up at about 7:50.

check the times of the coach trips carefully.
One of ours left at 7.30 am and the hotel offered to make a packed breakfast for us. However, they then said that the buffet would be open a bit earlier that day so we had a continental breakfast before we left.

I have been and enjoyed it but my friend did not like getting up for the two coach trips which we had to sign in at 8h15 therefore leaving the hotel a bit before 8h.

I remember moaning a bit when we got up at 6 am "this is supposed to be a holiday"!

Hubby and I are usually down for hotel breakfast by 9am, so up around 8am. 9am seems a popular time for guests to come down as it's always busy then.

My dear late friend and I used to be up and about before breakfast exploring the area at home and abroad which gave us plenty of time to either book a coach trip or just go off under our own steam via bus train tram or boat.
We were both early risers so always prepared for trips which we enjoyed very much as we made sure that we saw as much of a place as we could cram in. Beautiful memories.

I’m an early riser too, especially on holiday when you don’t want to miss a minute.....

If there's two of you sharing a hotel room (plus needing to be downstairs for a served or buffet breakfast) I'd be inclined to get up earlier than 7.30am in order to make sure you can both use the shower AND leave time to get dressed and presentable before showing your face in public ;).

I would get up around 7.45-8 am which doesn't seem either too early or too late. I expect you want it to chime in with your friend which is something I find difficult. As an early riser I often felt a bit awkward if I was up, dressed and breakfasted before my companion or visitor was out of bed.

If you are in Florence you will need to get out and about early in order to avoid queues even at this time of year. Book ahead if possible.

If going on organised tours, in plenty of time for getting ready and an unhurried breakfast. I don't do 'rushing' now, and certainly not on holiday.

Otherwise, it would depend on how well I'd slept.

Depends on the location the hotel and what time BF is available from.If 24 hour room service then why not. Hot coffee and croissants on a balcony overlooking the Med?

Lat February, I booked 4 days B&B in Whitley Bay...on a whim...don't ask.
I had just been listening to Dire Straits Tunnel Of Love and thought 'Why not?'
Looked online and found a very accomodating couple who were closed for winter but invited me and arranged to pick me up from the Metro. I had a truly fabulous time. Train, ferry, Metro, the couple even arranged for a friend who had a bike shop in the town to lend me a bicycle which they brought to the Metro (as per my request) took my backpack and gave me instructions on getting to their home.
It was like being with family...only better. They actually took me to the theatre on one night. In the evenings we played board or card games and I'd make tea and get more coal for the fire. It really was surreal.
I toured the lighthouse and the lifeboat crew gave me a showround after I met one of them in a pub.
Of course, the Spanish City isn't what it was but I stood and played the song through my earphones whilst enjoying the view.

I like to get up at dawn’s crack, and go out for a wander and a coffee, before going back to breakfast with the Bodach about 9. He’s not one for ‘ flânerie’, as he likes to have a destination rather than just wandering aimlessly!

Depends on times coach trips start but I'd shower at a little before 8, dress and light make up, and be down to breakfast at 8.30 or just after. This is same as I do at home. If coach trips earlier then I'd get up earlier.

I'd certainly be up and about by 8. Wandering around the city early while it is quiet would be lovely. Are you anticipating arguments about when to make a start?
