Odd that the "find my phone" app said the phone was at the hotel . Those apps are usually very accurate. I'm glad you got your phone back !

I didn't have an IPhone at the time, but thought I had lost my phone after a trip into town with my husband..I made him drive back and went into every store we had been in asking if anyone had turned in a phone. No luck, so on the way home I was going to use my husband's phone to call the phone company. Just then my phone rang. It was in my bra the whole time. Aargh!

I was running late for work. I couldn’t find my glasses anywhere- I need them for reading etc. Another rummage through my second, big bag revealed the butter dish. My glasses were in the fridge.

We have non smart phones (AC cast offs) which we rarely use as we didn't get a signal at home until we moved here six weeks ago. I haven't seen mine for about two weeks and, having searched the house and car, I think it is lost. I can't remember when I last saw it.
I expect if I replace it it will turn up. No point phoning it as the battery will be flat by now. Where do misplaced phones turn up?

My grandmother once put her hot water bottle outside the front door and took a milk bottle up to bed.

Last year I bought some items at a big shop in Torquay, paying by bank debit card. After getting home I couldn't find the card anywhere; went completely berserk looking for it, and eventually drove the 15 miles back to the shop and told them about it.
They were marvellous, helping me to look high and low for it. They even looked through footage on their CCTV and it showed me walking out of the shop with the card in my hand. So we then searched the car park. They really did go the extra mile to help me. With no success I went home again and reported the card as stolen. ~Then I decided to search my handbag just once more and.... guess what? The card was safely zipped into a side pocket inside my handbag,- a place where I never normally put such things. Oh the relief! But I then had to phone the shop and deeply apologise and then phone the bank and eat humble pie.
I think this qualifies me for Wally status!

I moved to a new flat in Feb , up and in the shower ready to go all beding in black bags. Men turned up and started to load van half way through looked for my phone as house line cut off by then needed it so solicitor could ring. Panic could not fine it so removal men rang the number after about 7 times they could hear it in the van so they unloaded it and found it in the bag with my duvet felt such a fool. They just laughed and said I was not the first and they where glad it was not the whole van they had to search.

It's lucky your husband didn't think you'd been having an affair and meeting in a posh hotel!

I have at various times left both my front door keys and
my purse in the freezer.

If ever you have mislaid anything always ask for help from St Anthony the Patron Saint of lost items.
This may sound odd but whenever I lose something he inevitably finds it for me.
(I give a donation to Charity when he does so depending on how important the lost item was to me)

Lanclass- yes! And this year inLisbon I discovered his house! It's now a little museum dedicated to him. He didn’t help me find my travel cards last month, though.

My husband and l had gone into Birmingham on a shopping trip. On returning to the car park we found he had lost the car keys.
We retraced our steps to all the places we had been to with no luck. Back at the car park l rang our SIL to ask if he would go to our house to retrieve the spare keys and drive to us.
Whilst we sat and waited we went over it again. I remembered when we were in a cafe DH had opened a taped up box of one of our purchases with the edge of the keys. Dawning moment! There they were nestled in the box. Too late to stop SIL and profuse apologies when he arrived.

If I am going to anyone's house and have something that I mustn't forget to take with me. I put my car keys in the bag with the item so I don't forget it.

My recently widowed sister had her boiler serviced and then 2 weeks later a smart meter fitted. A few days later decided to test the heating to see if all was well. Normally her husband dealt with all things and she is just learning how to do all the 'jobs' he used to handle. So she clicked on the heating and waited. No heat came through so she tried again, still nothing, so she 'googled' it. Found many messages saying problems arose after having smart meter fitted. She took a deep breath, tried to be assertive and rang EON to report problem insisting all was well until the smart meter was fitted. They said it was unlikely two were linked but would send an engineer around day after tomorrow. Feeling very pleased with her herself at handling the situation she sat back although something was niggling at back of her mind. Finally out loud she said 'Come on ...... help me, what am I missing' to her beloved hubby. Then it dawned on her AAgh the thermostat what was that on! She checked, it was on zero! A slight touch and bam the heating flared into life. She swears she heard him laughing and felt like a right wally. A quick call to EON to apologise, they were lovely by the way' Only one of many funny things shes done since becoming widowed and having to cope on her own.

I used to put my phone in my bra all the time but now I worry about the radio waves as there was talk of an increase in cancer with phones.

I have twice packed my sunglasses in my suitcase when going to visit family in Australia, only to find that they have vanished into thin air. Thorough searches at both ends have been fruitless, and they have never been seen since.
I recently looked for a thin cotton dressing-gown, when packing for a holiday, but couldn't find it. I know that I had it in Australia. My family are all visiting friends in South America right now. I will have to wait until they are back home, before enquiring if I have left my robe behind at their house. It's strange that they haven't mentioned finding it, though.
I hope it hasn't disappeared into the same 'black hole' that my sunglasses did!

I have been guilty of calling out the AA to a seized alternator bearing in a red AX and after an hour and a half been discovered by a puzzled AA man who was looking for the owner of a green Fiat which was blocking traffic!

I hope he has been able to dine out on the story - he was very understanding.

We all do daft things like this. I'm always telling myself to make sure that I know where my mobile is at all times - but do I do this? No, I don't.
Last week it was out of sight. I phoned it from the landline and could hear it ring loud and clear. I looked under the cushions, the coffee table, apron pocket, other pockets, loo (not literally) kitchen worktop, hall table, went upstairs, came downstairs. Twice. Swear words getting really bad now. I still couldn't find it yet it was so loud it had to be nearby. Eventually in exasperation I put my hand to my back pocket and there it was! I think I'd better get myself booked into a home for the bewildered soon, don't you?

Yes, indeed, St. Anthony returned my amethyst rosary that I forgot in the hotel we stayed in when my eldest niece got married.

I phoned the hotel and was told the rosary was not there, which didn't surprise me, as I am afraid I was cynical enough to assume that whoever found it had kept it.

A week later, the rosary and the case I keep it in, suddenly appeared on the shelf in my room where my statues of the Virgin Mary and of the Holy Infant of Prague stand.

I know I didn't place it there. Never told DH this, as the rosary was a present from him.

I 've had the phone in the back pocket problem. I can hear it ringing but the more I move towards the sound the further away it gets. So frustrating.
