Underwired bras

We do need structure otherwise its monobosom time- how about getting fitted properly and buying a couple of new ones.

Underwired bras are the work of the devil ?

Being quite small in the boob department I like them, they make me look bigger! My sister has a fitting of 34G while I am 32B, wish I had some of hers!

I'm a G cup, and I hate them. I've always had to have underwired bras.

If bras are not underwired I find they ride up when I raise my arms, so always choose the wired and don't know I am wearing them. As long as they are full cup with side support and sturdy straps I am happy.

I have to have an underworld bra being a 36h. With a good fitting bra I hardly know I'm wearing it.

I always wore underwired (38F) until the specialist at the breast clinic told be to stop as they can dig into flesh. I had cysts and the wire hurt. They go a bit more south now but I have more support in the shoulder area.

i have been fitted....Debenhams, they do a reasonable job. But its uncomfortable , especially in the heat.

thanks, the two Ive got ( bras not boobs) are expensive but if they are uncomfortable whats the point?

I gave up on underwired bras a few years ago, because they weren`t comfortable, but a few months ago I gave in to temptation because I saw 2 that I thought looked lovely. Boy, do I regret it now, I`m looking for 2 non wired replacements, and these 2 are going into the bin.

My last patient as a GP was very memorable. The poor girl ( in her twenties) had inserted the underwire from a bra into her upper arm in the fat layer. You could feel the curved wire. It had healed over and she wanted it removed. Memorable patient.

Underwired bras are brilliant if they fit properly.

They say that many women are wearing the wrong size bra. I got myself checked and after converting to the correct size, I find underwired bras extremely comfortable.

It has to be underwired for me (38GG) but I hate them and the exorbitant price of a good one. They are the first thing off when I get home - good thing Mr C doesn’t need to see my knees anymore!??

can anybody recommend a good non wired one which lifts them skywards please?

Hello oldbatty. My friend's Mum always used to wear Triumph Doreen bras. Kath had a larger bust and looking at some of the reviews on Amazon it seems that these bras would lift them skywards.
I live in Bristol and there is an absolutely marvellous shop in Keynsham called Perfect Fit - they do a grand job of measuring and advising.

I am 34D/E cup and do not like underwired bras. Even if they are fitted correctly I find them uncomfortable and for years I have worn Berlei bras (classic) non-wired which have a band of cross over elastic underneath for support and stretchy sides with flexible plastic bones for shape and support.

I appear to have lots of bits of other people's bodies eg big boobs, small back, waist, big bum, short arms and sturdy thighs.
