Underwired bras

I have found a site which was recommended by someone called boob or bust, this is a self bra measuring guide. For a few years I have been measured at m&s and Debenhams. They said I was 36b, last week I followed this guide and it said I was 34f. I purchased 2 bras from Asda as I didn't want to spend money and find that it was wrong. They are so comfortable wearing even in this heat is so good.
Just to confirm I had my DD measure herself she is very endowed with boobs has always worn 36g. She came up 34h. She sent for one from a site online and again she feels more comfortable.

Hi all newbie here. Anyone from Carlisle? Where's the best place to get measured for correct fitting bra? I'm fed up with being uncomfortable.

I stopped wearing underwired bras a while back, the wire often came out after a few washes and then would be difficult to insert back in plus I sometimes found the wire sticking into me. I've found some satisfactory bras without underwire from M&S, oh well at least they can get something right

ah anything beginning with Prima is for me. Armour? not so sure.

I had what I thought was a sweat rash under my 44DDs last year till doctor told me it was an infection. I now wear stretch bra type tops when at home. When going out I use an underwired Triumph Amourette, always comfortable, but fairly expensive.

Oldbatty - I think you should find somewhere that sells (and fits) Prima Donna bras. They are super-expensive but with care and hand-washing do go on for ages.
I am happy in several styles of their underwire bras but none from M&S, Bravissimo or elsewhere - the others don’t even come close to the comfort and fit of Prima Donna.

Im liking the sound of Miss Mary. Sort of firm and reassuring in a scandi sort of way.

Bras without underwiring have come a long way in recent years, so long as they are a good make. I used to wear underwire bras when I was young and pert and didn’t have a problem. Now I am older, not so pert and bigger, I also find them to be the work of the devil. I wear Miss Mary of
Sweden non-wired bras. They support well due to interesting cleverness with layered fabric, and are much more comfortable.

I am sitting reading this and feeling so uncomfortable. The underwired one is digging in. They do give a better shape but in the hot weather especially they dig in.

I've never had a problem with underwired bras (apart from the fact that predictive text very nearly had me posting about underwriters' bras ). I wear a bra in bed too, on the advice of a midwife back in the day, and haven't been uncomfortable.

I did have a colleague though who thought she was having a heart attack during an aerobics class, till she found out that her underwire had come adrift and was poking her in the ribs.

Esspee; I budded in 1963 and in late 60s and early 70s I was mostly braless esp in summer. My mum always said the sun made me grow. Then I became respectable Lol ;)

I was told by my boob consultant that as we ladies age and the changes begin hormonally, the tissues in the breast are more prone to benign breast disease.
He went further to say that underwired bras are far more uncomfortable to wear because of this. He recommended that I wore supportive non underwired type.... I am a 36GG and had always worn unwired bras.
In my opinion Debenhams non wired bras where awful. After 2 years of sticking with them I decided it was time to try Mark's & Sparks.
To say I am pleased is an understatement. I told the lady what I needed/wanted and she gave me the perfect bra!
Sturdy, flattering and in a range of lovely colours.
Who'd have thought that one day I'd be shopping at M&S!

And I also loathe foam bras - they are so hot and make me look even bigger. (We call them egg box bras).

Another vote for Bravissimo here. I'm large (F/G) and always wear underwired, which I find very comfortable if the the size is right and the wire fits properly against the ribcage. They also look better under clothes, I hate the "chicken breast" look that I've got when I've tried unwired bras.
I just wish they made cotton underwired bras at Bravissimo.

I've never worn anything but an underwired bra. Properly fitted & I don't even know I'm wearing it. Ring Bravissimo & they will tell you how to test if your bra is correctly fitted over the phone. Plus their bras are lovely-never wear anything else.

Sloggi make a non-wired tee shirt type of bra. Three colours including “nude”. Online from Debenhams. Think it’s called “WOW Comfort”. Hate wearing bras at the best of times but this one gives my 36d boobs a nice shape and uplift! Reasonably comfortable.

Callgirl1, can you not just take the wires out?
