I’m new here too, only signed up a couple of months ago I’m not sure why that would make you paranoid? It certainly wasn’t my intention, gransnet just seemed like a nice community. I promise I’m a nice person!

Besides, surely everyone was new at some point?

I started a post some months back because I had had a sneaky look at 'Mumsnet'...well, I guess it wasn't really sneaky as, by default, I am a 'Mum' too! - and I commented that while Gransnet was showing perhaps 50 or so replies to a discussion, Mumsnet was usually around 550, and why did people think this was? I do agree that in the past few weeks or so Gransnet seems to have more answers on the different threads - and that's great! How nice to have new members and new opinions.

Well, we just lost a tranche of regular posters, not sure why, so it is nice to welcome so many new names on the posts.

Well,think I will just stick with the Games for the time being..am under enormous stress,had a mega blip last night,too much wine,feel silly now,until am able to cope again shall stay quiet....

farview I’m thinking that a lot of the new posters have changed their names and I’d go one further in that a fair few of them are totally made up scenarios.

It’s a shame, maybe now that the site is connected to other social media sites some people get a kick out of seeing their untrue posts make it onto FB.

Again, I agree Bestwishes I think there are a few spoof threads on at the moment and I did wonder if some of the ‘new’ posters were just new names

I do miss some of the old members such as Ana Anya and Jinglebells who ruffled lots of feathers but made me laugh. HQ got rid of her sadly, a very poor move I feel.

What on earth do you have to do NanKate to get 'busted' from Gransnet?? It did cross my mind, having mentioned Mumsnet, that perhaps some new members might be potential rather than actual 'Grans'.

I’ve been pressing my nose up against the glass for a while to see what goes on here and it seems a less spikey place recently so I’ve dipped my toe in and no ones bitten my head off yet. Some nights I thought that there would be loads of us lurking in the shadows.....and here we are! Hello!

There does seem to be a certain theme among the spoofers at the moment.

Been on here a little while now, notice the same posters are willing to "have a go" at anyone who does not agree with them. Not very nice, but that's folk for you. If you want to express an opinion, duck and make sure your head is well below the parapet!

It depends on the subject. Some people are very passionate about their beliefs and tend to think the best defence is attack.

Elegran, I am passionate about my beliefs, but being well mannered I am very mindful of other peoples feelings when replying to a post.
