Yup, all my dessert spoons except one. Somebody's kindly put them away..........

I'm going to try to replace it today - bet it turns up tomorrow!!

Not over Christmas, but I lost my balloon whisk. It was missing for several month! After searching and accusing DH for using it to mix plant food, I gave up all hope of finding it. Come Christmas, I went into my cupboard for my bun tins and there was the whisk, nestled in amongst them. How did it get there? It's usual home is in my baking utensils drawer.

We lost a jar of red onion chutney. It had travelled from DD 3s to DD 2s and then disappeared.on Boxing Day. Found it yesterday sitting by our back gate. !!???

It could be in our garage DH often misappropriates domestic items and leaves them in there - he's probably being traffing his sprockets or something!

My Mam many years ago used to make about 6 Christmas cakes around Sept at the time she lived alone in a tiny one bedroomed flat So on one particular post-Christmas cake baking session she had only 5 cakes but 6 tins back in a cupboard She was methodical in ticking off lists etc and all six names had been ticked so she baked another In March of the next year She asked me to get a box of knitting patterns off the top of her wardrobe so I moved a hat box and it was heavy and inside was the missing Christmas cake complete with an apple to keep it moist so it was still edible! When she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's after that she always said that was her initial trigger point bless her its one of the many things I miss about her as never had a Christmas cake the same since

However, a box of six golden coloured crackers (Christmas crackers, not edible ones) that I was saving for New Years Day lunch has vanished off the face of the earth.

Yes. I bought two pairs of socks as stocking fillers for my DS and DSiL. When I came to wrap them up they were nowhere to be found. I suspect my OH has purloined them and isn’t fessing up. Trouble is all men’s socks look the same to me so I can’t even rummage through his sock drawer and challenge him.

kitty I’ve gained a few bowls and odds and ends of cutlery etc.. as I hosted the main course Christmas dinner and others brought starters, puddings, etc. I’ll check and see if there’s a big, bendy fish slice there if you like.

I bought a lovely necklace from M&S for part of my DD's Christmas present but when I came to wrap presents up, could I find it? No!

Searched high and low and eventually decided I must have thrown it out with the rubbish. So I went and got her a pretty bracelet instead.

Christmas Day arrived and I decided to wear my new M&S slippers and there, inside one slipper was the missing necklace. The cash out lady must have popped it in there for safekeeping when putting my purchases in a carrier.

So it's now in a safe place waiting for her birthday in March. (In case I forget, can someone remind me that it is in the presents box in the bottom of the spare wardrobe. Thanks! )

I haven't lost anything this year but have had to loan DD a set of soup spoons for her ham shank soup,DGS4 had kindly loaned all her soup spoons to his pal who had just moved into a flat and was hosting a house warming party.

kitty nothing has disappeared this time, but my pastry brush which mysteriously vanished last time DGS came to stay was miraculously found under the bed in the children’s room

I've lost count of how many things I have lost at one time or another. Everything eventually turns up. I no longer buy christmas presents well in advance since what the family refer to as The Big Lebowski Loss. I bought the video, forgot it, lost it and eventually unearthed it about easter by which time everyone had seen it!

A couple of years ago I had two of my nephews repaint my kitchen whilst I was away on holiday. When they finished their mother kindly put everything away for me - since when I have been unable to find the key to the kitchen window locks, a bottle opener and the brush for cleaning my Rayburn! Many things were put away in the wrong place but I found them and put them in their correct home, but those things I just cannot find and she doesn't remember where she put them!! (Yes I have turned out all the cupboards and drawers to no avail so I have had to buy replacements!)

Yep, my mojo has definitely gone missing, but have to say it was hiding a bit before Christmas

Put them away until next year Cari. I've got some old ones. Planned to use them this year but DIL gave me some so they had to be used. DS and GS pulled one of the old ones to test if they were still good-they were. So they are going away again. I'm wondering is there a record for the oldest cracker?

Forks seem to go missing in our house! Why and by whom I've no idea and all of a sudden we've had an influx of teaspoons. Can a fork change into a teaspoon? Is it the work of 'elf on a shelf'????

Things going missing is understandable, but what I want to know is how the twenty four identical teaspoons from my canteens of cutlery have morphed into a range of different teaspoons, no two of which actually match?

We lost the remote control for Amazon tv the other day, Blaming the little ones in all the chaos going on in the house we pulled all the furniture out yesterday - found OH's missing slipper, several pieces of lego and the cats toy mouse (not to mention a lot of dust) but no remote. It was only as I washing up yet another pile of plates I suddenly realised we don't have a remote for Amazon on that tv - it's on the other one!!

If anybody was looking for Bluetak or its equivalent- I must have visited because during a de- cluttering session a few days ago I found at least 6 packs and so much money that I will not have to visit the bank for at least a month! Most but not all in the same place, a wallet given to me as a present years ago but wallets do not fall apart so I have several spare.

If I could remember where I put the Bluetak I will never have to buy any ever again.

My butter curler. It only sees the light of day on high days and holidays, and is next to useless at curling butter, so it has probably got fed up of me moaning while using it and has skulked off somewhere. My SiL did comment on the fact that there was no curly butter for his starter on Christmas Day. I told him to get a life!
