For many years, I have bought and cooked and hosted Christmas dinner for my DD and Ds and grandchildren.
This year, there will only be me, my partner who is vegetarian, DD and baby grandson.
We went shopping today for Xmas grub, crackers etc.
I was asked for money towards the cost of it, half in fact.
In all the years of providing in the past I have never asked or received any contribution in the form of food or money.
It just didn't occur to me to do so. I did it in the spirit of generosity.
I feel a bit aggrieved that I am now expected to pay for my dinner.
Am I being unreasonable?
Or am I being a skinflint.?
We will only be there for one meal and will also be taking some bottles of prosecco.
