Knickers or pants

Knickers . Could have been worse, they could have said panties , horrible word

Knickers. Men wear pants

Knickers, always. Despite the fact that I often wore red shoes at work and used to be told "red shoes, no knickers"! Got that again when I bought a fur coat (fake, of course).

Haven’t called them knickers since I was a child.Always pants.Never panties though, sounds pervy.

I think women only say "panties" in mens imaginations.

In France they're called 'slips' for some reason.

Knickers for me (French of course)

Panties are for Americans. People wear panties (knickers) under pants (trousers). I think some Americans call all underpants underpants. Perhaps they freak out like gransnetters over the word panties as well.

Pants definitely for me my Mum and gran wore knickers.

It was always, always pants when I was young, but I date from before most people knew that Americans called trousers ‘pants’. That still sounds weird to me.

Knickers sounded quaint and old-fashioned. Also, it sometimes meant boys’ knickerbockers. I’m not old enough to remember when boys wore them, but the word was often used in books. Victorian and Edwardian, perhaps?

I’m not sure what I call them now. I don’t talk about them very often! I think I still say pants.

M&S call them briefs.

Mine are not quite as brief as they were!

Trousers used to be slacks and pants, worn by men, and the UNDERwear were called UNDERpants as they went under, surprisingly. Women wore drawers as you drew (pull not with a pencil) them on, my Nan was a drawers lady. The other type were knickerbockers originally Dutch, and then shortened to knickers. International language is a weird thing.
I’m in the knickers group.

We need a club then, The Harvesters......oh no, that sounds like the pub meals ( had too many of those, which is why I need larger pants/ knickers/ briefs.)
