Birthday present!

Today is my birthday and my OH has bought me the strangest of presents that I do not know what to do with. It is a bendy contraption (think desk lamp stem) with a bracket to screw it onto something (desk/table etc.) and a gadget at the top to fix your smartphone on to.

Can anyone suggest exactly what I might do with it? - polite ideas only required! grin

Use the torch as a desk lamp or download a clock app and use it as a bedside lamp.

I have arranged for amazon to take it away! - and have an amazon gift voucher instead.

Happy Birthday and happy choosing too, at least it's made the rest of us smile....and I for one am thinking "there but for the grace of God go I" grin and I'll bet I'm not the only one

Happy Birthday Luckygirl - it's my birthday too smile

You gadget sounds ideal for attaching an iPad mini to a bedside cabinet for nocturnal surfing ?

I'm off to look for one now ...

Did you hit him with it first? Happy birthday for yesterday.

Candy1 Sat 09-Sept-17 09:34:58

It was obviously something he hankered after himself and was hoping you'd pass it over - I was bought a racing bike some years ago and he could never see why I wasn't thrilled ???!!!!
Anyway belated birthday happiness - enjoy your Amazon voucher.

Happy birthday, screw it above the bed? xx

jevive73 Sat 09-Sept-17 09:51:18

Ask him for the receipt and get a refund to buy something you want? happy birthday

libra10 Sat 09-Sept-17 09:56:11

I second what jevive says, refund and buy something you want.

Happy Birthday!

To be honest that would be absolutely ideal for me, as I use my smartphone as an MP3 player when I am in bed to listen to my audio books, as I am blind and can no longer read. The worry I have is that I might accidently get my Iphone underneath the bedcovers and it overheat and catch fire. So a device like this fitted to my bedside table would be ideal and I could listen to my audio books without worry! Happy Birthday to you and thanks for the idea!

Happy birthday to the September girls. Mine today and anything is better than the hockey sticks and satchels and useful things for school which was my childhood lot. I've been given a guide to Sri Lanka. I think that's where himself is planning the next holiday. The dear man has taken me away for the weekend in the lakes.

Maybe the original gift was to hold mobile in car so it could be used as sat navigation?

MiniMouse Sat 09-Sept-17 10:16:02

Happy Birthday Lucky I think I would have wrapped it up and given it to him for Christmas!
