Birthday present!

Today is my birthday and my OH has bought me the strangest of presents that I do not know what to do with. It is a bendy contraption (think desk lamp stem) with a bracket to screw it onto something (desk/table etc.) and a gadget at the top to fix your smartphone on to.

Can anyone suggest exactly what I might do with it? - polite ideas only required! grin

I have had a mixture over the years- from a beautiful watch when visiting New York, to absolutely nothing for my 50th when I was seriously ill. I think he thought my present was his daily hospital visits!
