Just picked up GS3 (aged 6) from a party ( it's INSET at his school today) and it was a real party. Not one of these 'outdo the other kids' but half a dozen school friends, at their own house, played Pass-the-Parcel, Musical Statures, Musicals Bumps, Eating Chocolate with a Knife and Fork and Blind Man's Buff.
Mum made the cake herself, ditto the sandwiches and jellies.
Party.Bag was a piece of the birthday cakes, a ballon and small packet of Haribos and some felt tips.
GS3 had a great time. Bring it on...well done that Mum!! ??
A new definition of what constitutes British
. Or the time I made a lovely castle cake for a princess party using doilies to make the Disney type spires on the towers. Unfortunately I didn't think about the flammability of said doilies and when I lit the candles the cake caught fire
. My girls are in their late twenties now and they and their friends still remember and laugh about our parties.
they go to all sorts of expensive venues or hire bouncy castles. Their mad the lot of them. I follow my MiL mantra 'see all, hear all, say nowt' I'm being polite the last word is rude.
. And I know that however realistic the finished result is, he'll be the only child at the party who'll know what the heck it is anyway!
