Air conditioning ❄️❄️❄️Brrrr!!

I could not agree more. I am going out for lunch on Sunday, I would not normally need a cardigan because I am certain it will be very warm but indoors I also will probably be shivering. Such a waste of money.

When we were in Florida it was so unbearably hot some days, so we were grateful for the air/con whenever we got back to our apartment......until we went rushing for a cardigan after about 10 minutes! Surely it can be set at such a level as to be comfortably cool without getting frozen?

My daughter had a t-shirt and sweatshirt on in the shop she works in today it was so cold with the aircon

Can't aircon be turned up or down these days? We have an inbuilt temperature gauge on ours at work so the temperature stays to a certain constant.

I also think, just as in the heat, people have their own tolerance.

You can't please all of the people all of the time and find aircon a bit of a blessing most of the time.

Wish I had air con in my car - I was nearly passing out with the heat today!

Totally agree with you Ana. Nothing we can do about the heat but if we have aircon at least we can breathe whilst wearing a cardigan.

I agree saak, my tolerance to heat is low so I am very grateful for aircon etc. I do save money on heating in the winter though. I always think its easier to keep warm than cool.

It's come upon us so suddenly that we haven't been able to acclimatise ourselves properly. One week hearing on, the next my thermal blinds closed to keep the heat out.

My dog had a seizure last night - a bad one. Sure it was partly heat-induced.

Anya, How is your dog? I am sure there are a lot of humans also effected by the heat. Meanwhile here in up in the mountains Cyprus we have storms and temperatures not reaching 20 degrees. Sweaters on and even fires lit in the evening when it gets down to 11 degrees.

I hate the hot weather, I'm like Christinefrance - give me cold weather any day. Not had any heat on since March, am amazed when I go into peoples houses and still find hot radiators.
We had terrific lightning storms last night, and thankfully fresher air and a bit cooler today.

Supermarkets are other places where the aircon is too cold. I have gone back out to the car to get a jacket or such in icy supermarkets rather than freeze.
I do like the aircon in my car in really hot weather but that is controllable.
A few years back I had to get a new car and it just happened to have aircon. I would not be without it now.

I love it warm and have no understanding of people who moan all the time about the cold then one hot day and they re winging they re too hot ( before you shoot me down I don't mean on here) a few people I encountered yesterday I live by the sea and there's always a breeze but still people moan the minute the sun comes out for a full day
I seem to feel the cold more as I ve got older and feel much more miserable when the sun don't shine

Not by the customers in supermarkets or other public places which was the point.

There is mention of a heatwave here in France this year, Alaska here I come.

I think it's kept cool in supermarkets all the time to help keep food fresher. We don't notice in winter bundled up in coats but when you are wearing a sundress or t shirt and shorts it does feel cold!

I hope the prediction for France is right! Heading for Provence with the family, and looking forward to afternoons by the river, mornings by (in) the pool. Heaven! However, one year, when it was just too hot for working in the summer term, I made a point of escaping during my lunch hour to a nearby Sainsbury's to enjoy its sub-Arctic climate.

I'm grouchy and miserable when I'm too hot, so have the air con in the car on it's coldest setting when the weather's hot. DH likes his side of the car warmer, so now we buy cars with dual zone climate control, it keeps us both happy!
Even living literally a couple of hundred yards from the beach it's been dreadfully hot here, even the sea breeze was too warm to do any good, and we had lots of sea frets, cool water, warm land, thick mist!
We have an air conditioning unit in the bedroom as I can't sleep at all in very hot weather, but it makes the room feel airless, I'd rather have the windows wide open, but it's been far too hot!
Yesterday was overcast, quite windy and cooler, it was bliss!

It was like the Arctic in the Co-op, but when I went into Sainsbury's the temperature was perfect. I went for new jeggings in Sainsbury's and ended up with a white vest top and a flowery necklace. I just couldn't help myself. ??

It's 19 degrees outside. I'm shivering in. a supermarket cafe. An equally cold staff member tells me it's set to be 11 degrees in here. I didn't bring a coat. Silly me.

I work part time in Sainsburys and my store I'd absolutely freezing in this heat, it's ridiculous,customers have been heard to say they cannot shop it's so cold and they leave and go to Waitrose over the road. We have all told store managers about it and how uncomfortable it is to shop and work like this but they say it's not controlled by them which we know is a porky.

This is why the American ladies carry a shawl or wrap when they go out to dinner. They also need them in their workplaces.

Could have done with some air-con yesterday. Six of us went to a local pub/restaurant for lunch. They've just built a large conservatory extension on the side which is where we had to sit as there were no other tables available. Only one of the large windows was open

We started to swelter so I asked a waitress if they could open the doors at each end to get a through draught. She did this but the people sitting by the doors complained about the breeze.

We asked if they'd like to swap tables with us because DH was beginning to feel light-headed - mainly because he has a large dressing on the top of his head so was wearing a hat.

They refused

We ended up eating quickly and didn't bother with pudding or any more drinks. DD is health and safety manager for a large farming company so when we paid the bill she gave them a few recommendations for ventilating a conservatory.....in her own choice words

At least if you're chilly you can put a cardi on.

Couldn't agree more MawBroon. Never go into a supermarket without a jacket once the AC is going at full pelt. Have even been known to wear gloves to stop my fingers going numb!
