Air conditioning ❄️❄️❄️Brrrr!!

I don't moan about being too cold (I don't think ) but I'm like Juggernaut and find hot weather really enervating. Are supermarket temperatures controlled by computers to react automatically to the temperature outside? Hadn't thought about the environmental question, good point.

I appreciate a bit of cool when the weather is boiling, but sometimes it is a bit much. Our cinema is freezing when the air conditioning is on, it puts me off going, and I remember having to move tables in a restaurant to get out of the icy down blast of their aircon.

I doubt menopausal women would agree the bliss of walking into a shop with air con and finding every excuse not to leave! It just goes to show that you can't please everybody

And I thought it was just me. Some supermarkets are really cold, at least it means that we get a move on. Some years ago, in the winter, I went into Holland and Barratt, freezing outside, and they had the doors wide open! When I asked why, I was told it was so customers could see that they were open! Do they think we are so stupid that we don't know how to open a door! The staff were freezing and fed up but weren't allowed to close the door.

I agree, Last week on a train from London I had to put a cardigan and a coat on! I was not the only one...couldn't wait to get off the train to a sultry 23 degrees in the North East. Sometimes however it is useful especially in a crowded carriage on a hot day. I rarely use it in the car because in general I don't like it. I think the problem is that Air conditioning is relatively "new" to Great Britain. When abroad I don't have a problem with it, especially in the US, they have got the balance right.

We have just returned from a cruise where we complained about the freezing cold aircon in our room. A nice young man came with a probe thingy who said it was 72 degrees and that's where they liked to keep the temp. Given that we were sailing to Nova Scotia where its only just early spring it didn't seem necessary. You could adjust it anywhere people were wearing coats in the dining rooms. I picked up a dreadful cold (I know you don't get a cold by feeling cold but I got one anyway) so I felt dreadful and went to bed in my dressing gown. Its lovely to be home to cold wet England and my nice warm house.
