I have just received a very plausible e-mail purporting to come from my bank and even including four digits of my account number. The bank assure me that they do not ask people to click on attachments or send membership numbers by e-mail. The address appears to originate in New York.

It's awful isn't it Harrigran, they try everything in the book to get their hands on our details etc, Like you say there is usually something not 100% right in the way they word it , so it's best too err on the very cautious side.
