unexpected feathers

Can't go along with this. I think there was a thread about angels which suggested something similar though.

People believe what they need to believe.

Feathers fall off birds all the time, they blow around and get everywhere. If angels or those who have passed on wish to send us messages, I would have thought they could do it more directly. However, I agree that people believe what they want to believe - and if they believe that a message is on its way, perhaps they become more receptive?

I just found a bunch of feathers under my bird feeders...RIP another pigeon, I'm afraid.

A few months ago, during a particularly stressful time, I found a little white feather on the dining room table.
It probably blew in through a small open window but at the time I found it comforting and it helped me grit my teeth and face the day.
To be honest, at the time, I think I would have believed in fairies at the bottom of the garden if I thought it would have helped!

My daughter has had five miscarriages in the last two years. Recently we started seeing white feathers in unusual places. Then we found out my daughter was pregnant again, and has passed the dangerous stage. I know it's probably nonsense but I like to think it was a message from my mum in heaven to say all would be well this time.

Wishing her (and you!) well, after so much sadness, she deserves her baby x

if it gives people comfort, what's the harm? I'm not sure if those who have died can contact us or not but I do know whenever I lose anything, especially of sentimental value, I ask my late DH to help me find it and I always do, usually somewhere I have already looked!

Well, if it helps you get through the day... I just get nervous when people rely too much on these things. They might vote, for instance.

There must be a whole bunch of people trying to get in touch with me. The foxes get the lazy fat pigeons and my garden is awash with feathers.

That's a nasty thing to say. Just because you don't believe in that sort of thing doesn't mean it's not true and the people who do believe in them are nutters. I've been to mediums lots of times and some of them are even able to give you names, and tell you lots of things that relate to you and no one else, so you know it's genuine.

Yes, we had this belief in feathers on the angel thread.My thoughts are that angels don't need wings (if they existed) but were only depicted with wings in medieval paintings because people thought then how could they move about between Heaven and Earth without wings.Only birds need wings.
If a belief in finding feathers is comforting, then there is no harm in it, but it does seem a bit strange.

If you believe & it gives you comfort go for it, I do find odd little white feathers in the most unlikely places in my home - always makes me wonder who is looking down on me

MiL had a Sparrow which sat on her window cill, she believed it was her dead OH visiting - didn't have the heart to tell her it probably wasn't the same Sparrow especially as this went on for years - but she believed

I too find tiny white feathers around, from our cushions or pillows (they must ooze out somehow.)

Oh dear, if it was true why don't we all hear from loved ones who have died? I'd rather put my trust and belief in the living not some mythical airy fairy thing.

What she said was not nasty, nobody has provided evidence that anyone survives death and James Randi who has challenged paranormal gobblygook provides perhaps the best example of proof that paranormal, supernatural or occult powers are pure fiction. There are 1 million dollars up for grabs for anyone who can provide evidence of any of the forgoing.

My duvet has a small rip, so every time I change the bed a whole host of angels must be contacting me!

My cousin was going through a very messy divorce. We were in her garden and a couple of feathers floated to the ground. I said someone is looking out for you from above, her reply was I need more than a couple of feathers to get through this. We were inside half an hour later I glanced out the kitchen window her small lawn was covered in white feathers. We were both astounded as we went out to look. I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Hasten to add her divorce went through smoothly after that. I do believe there is something in it now.
