unexpected feathers

Recently I have had some bad things going on on my life. It has seemed to be one thing after another. My very dear cousin, who I grew up with, passed away. Then my son started having difficulties in his life. And now, said son is having to undergo tests for a health issue.

Today this beautiful rose suddenly appeared on a rose bush that, to all intents and purposes, has been dormant for several weeks as well as being thoroughly deer nibbled

Maybe a sign? From someone, or somewhere?

Jaxie - I completely agree! . What is achieved at mocking others beliefs and get enjoyment from lame wise cracks that just insult the OP's intelligence, never mind their own. Even if you don't share the same opinion as another, at least show you have the intellectual capability to think beyond the tiny bubble you live in, at least that way you have an explanation to base your opinion on!

I do wish Gransnetters would not make cheap cracks at the expense of people who are looking for comfort in their troubles. Why be nasty when you can be nice?

My grandchildren are always finding things. On our last hike through gold country they both found two large nuggets, on previous trips they have found quartz crystals and fossils. My son arranges these "finds" to keep them motivated to continue the hike. Well, they are only 3 and 6 and magic, and mythical creatures, play an important part in their lives.

My Mam died almost 30 years ago and one day a feather floated down in front of me, I took it home and wedged it in a dried flower display on my bedroom wall where it stayed. Until my Dad was very poorly with leukaemia almost 9 years ago and he was not well at all, suddenly rushed into hospital and unfortunately passed away. When I got home from the hospital the feather had dropped down from the wall onto my chest of drawers. Was it my Dad saying he was now out of pain or was it my Mam telling me he had arrived to be with her? Either way it did give me a great deal of comfort.

Funny you should say that grabba because you ( or I, anyway) never seem to find coins lying around the street like I used to years and years ago.When a child, going onto the top deck of a trolleybus with my Mother, I would always find coins, sometimes even a half crown (which my Mother was very glad of.)I thought it magical as a child, but now realise that it was all the drunks from the night before, going onto the top deck for a smoke and fumbling in their pockets that released all the coins.

Finding a penny is another sign.
Who cares what others think? Whatever gets you past the bump is of use.
I would say I wouldn't base my life plan on it.

I think, if you're not recently bereaved, there's the same amount of feathers, you just don't have any reason to register them and commit the feather to memory. If you're "needing" a sign, you'll notice and register/remember the feathers and they'll seem more significant, and you won't remember the amount of feathers you walked by when they didn't mean anything. So it SEEMS like you only see a feather when you "need" to.

If I was dead and capable of sending messages, I'ld probably leave my nearest and dearest a bottle of really good tequila or a cup of tea lying around.. not feathers

If finding feathers is interpreted as a beneficent message by some, then bless them.
As a symbol, it is lovely, light, costs nothing( except, perhaps, to the defunct bird) and can lighten the mood, even allow good things to happen in mysterious ways.

When I am going through difficult times if I see a white feather in my home I am comforted because I know that things are going to be alright. Of course this sounds ridiculous but it has happened enough times to make me believe in it. And I am very glad that I have this comfort in my life.

Does it really matter what others believe if you do? Someone told me about a robin she thought was her husband revisiting their home. Why would I not allow her the comfort of her belief? I didn't tell her it was rubbish. However, I always say hello to the robin which frequents my garden, just in case!

My cousin was going through a very messy divorce. We were in her garden and a couple of feathers floated to the ground. I said someone is looking out for you from above, her reply was I need more than a couple of feathers to get through this. We were inside half an hour later I glanced out the kitchen window her small lawn was covered in white feathers. We were both astounded as we went out to look. I would never have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. Hasten to add her divorce went through smoothly after that. I do believe there is something in it now.

My duvet has a small rip, so every time I change the bed a whole host of angels must be contacting me!

What she said was not nasty, nobody has provided evidence that anyone survives death and James Randi who has challenged paranormal gobblygook provides perhaps the best example of proof that paranormal, supernatural or occult powers are pure fiction. There are 1 million dollars up for grabs for anyone who can provide evidence of any of the forgoing.

Oh dear, if it was true why don't we all hear from loved ones who have died? I'd rather put my trust and belief in the living not some mythical airy fairy thing.

I too find tiny white feathers around, from our cushions or pillows (they must ooze out somehow.)

If you believe & it gives you comfort go for it, I do find odd little white feathers in the most unlikely places in my home - always makes me wonder who is looking down on me

MiL had a Sparrow which sat on her window cill, she believed it was her dead OH visiting - didn't have the heart to tell her it probably wasn't the same Sparrow especially as this went on for years - but she believed

Yes, we had this belief in feathers on the angel thread.My thoughts are that angels don't need wings (if they existed) but were only depicted with wings in medieval paintings because people thought then how could they move about between Heaven and Earth without wings.Only birds need wings.

That's a nasty thing to say. Just because you don't believe in that sort of thing doesn't mean it's not true and the people who do believe in them are nutters. I've been to mediums lots of times and some of them are even able to give you names, and tell you lots of things that relate to you and no one else, so you know it's genuine.

There must be a whole bunch of people trying to get in touch with me. The foxes get the lazy fat pigeons and my garden is awash with feathers.
