I well remember some years ago now A friend called and H and I were both in light blue jeans and navy sweatshirts with white trainers and she said we looked like Tweedledum and Tweedledee. I never felt the same about her after that

DH and I still use 'Howard and Hilda' for couples who seem to be joined at the hip! How long ago was Ever decreasing Circles on?

Mid 80's. Loved the show and in particular, Howard and Hilda, great characters.

Ah yes, we have occasional Howard and Hilda moments too. ?

My DD always says we are like H&H. Other than that it's " Carter darling" from some long ago sitcom. I can't remember which one but it had Liz Smith in it ?

Oh I loved 'Carrrter' can't remember a thing about it though.

Was it starring Robin someone who was a Professor of Very Hard Sums and may have been by John Tinniswoode or is that a completely different programme?

Howard and Hilda loved the shipping forecast, I seem to remember?

Sometimes when DH and I are about to go out, I say 'one of us will have to change. We look like Howard and Hilda'. Strange how some characters stick in the mind.

I loved 'Ever decreasing circles'. I thought it was much better than 'The good life'. Howard and Hilda were classics but Penelope Wilton stole the show I reckon. And that handsome Paul next door!

I just had to google and I was thinking of" I didn't know you cared" I had forgotten all about it but I have a memory like an elephant according to my family and it was the name Carter which triggered it.

We have our Howard and Hilda moments too!

Remember Howard & Hilda's matching jumpers? (A look to be avoided?) The other day I saw a mum and small daughter (in the street) who were wearing matching striped dresses - I felt this looked bit odd.... Is it me?

I once made dresses for me and my 2 toddler daughters and a tie for DH out of a bargain length of fabric, and we wore them at the same time. What was I thinking?

Standing tale in our house is the fact that I bought Berty Bassett material for daughters bedroom when she was about 3 and recovered her headboard in it, made curtains, did a lamp shade and had enough material left to make her a dress!

Oh thank you for reminding me of Ever Decreasing Circles. Richard Briers character was my dad to a tee. The whistling, the vague good hearted character - he could have been Dad. Drove Mum mad as he spent all his time doing 'little jobs' for neighbours while things needed doing in our house.He was a totally lovely man. I wonder if you can get it on play again?

Sometimes DH and I get dressed at different times without seeing what the other is wearing. When we finally see our outfits we are very often wearing the same colour. We both exclaim ' Howard and Hilda' and then one of us goes and gets changed. (usually him!!)

This happens to DH and I too. Usually we're already in the car to go out and I say we're dressed the same again. We seem to think alike most of the time. When he's asleep I want him to turn over, and I say it in my mind. Usually he turns over!

I love Ever Decreasing Circles. I have the box set. We laugh at Hiward and Hilda but they were perfectly happy. Even down to planning their Ruby wedding then going into care "on the Wednesday"
