Being trendy grin DH and I have bought some stripey t shirts this year but it was only when youngest daughter arrived and said ' have you two looked at yourselves?' that we realised that we were both wearing grey striped tops, blue jeans and light shoes.

We are not auditioning for ever decreasing circles, honestly!

I remember 'I didn't know you cared'; didn't the old man say 'I heard that - pardon?'That one has stuck in my mind! Also loved EDC, and the poignant situation between Paul and Anne - so well suited, but she would never leave Martin who loved her to distraction. Aaah!

I don't have that problem my husband wears beige and white all the time. Oh! I have a white top on just as well I have blue jeans on?

I once bought from Clothkits [anyone remember them?] matching dresses for my 6 year-old DD and me. DM was there when they arrived. I commented that the colours would suit her. "Thank you darling" and I never saw my dress again! confused. I have to say that grandmother and DGD looked charming together.

Not long married we used to wear matching white polo neck jumpers! I thought we looked lovely together!! blush

And yes grandMattie I remember Clothkits. Made lots of them for my eldest two children. Wonderful idea.

I'm surprised at the number of gransnetters who wear jeans. Are we talking about blue denim?
I wear skinnys and canvas straight legs, leggings with tunic tops but not blue denim. And I don't like beige?

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 17-Jul-16 18:27:54

Indigo/dark blue denim or black jeans for me. Black or navy leggings around the house. Don't do bottoms in beige, white or any light colours.

What's wrong with wearing blue denim? Blue jeans are very handy for knocking around in at home or even a quick trip to the Co op. We are all different.

I love wearing my tops in various shades of purple/lilac as a I wear lots of Amethyst jewellry. Sometimes my hubby wears a top thats got purple stripes and we still go out

I'm just back from visiting my son in America and seemingly, Mother & Daughter matching outfits is having a moment in their shops. My own dds were horrified when I told them. grin

I remember Clothkits, I made some lovely outfits for my girls. I also had a ready-made knitted top and skirt for myself which I wore and wore and wore. Today's Boden and Seasalt reminds me of the Clothkits style.

My mum and dad both bought sheepskin jackets many years ago. Think they may still have them! It amused my sister and I hugely and we always called them Mr and Mrs Sheepskin. And walked 20 paces behind them .

blush still have our sheepskin jackets bought 40 years ago. Wrapped in polythene and in a cupboard awaiting the time when " I'm sure we will wear them again someday" comes!

I remember Clothkits. As well as making various Clothkits clothes for my daughter when she was little, my mum also made her a Clothkits doll called Kitty. My granddaughters now love playing with her. Unfortunately Mum is no longer alive to see how much all her stitching is still being enjoyed.

I remember I didn't know you cared! "I heard that, pardon!" was a catchphrase in my family for years. (Actually since my hearing has got worse DH says it to me a lot)

DD and I have got the same pair of trousers but we do try not to wear them at the same time.

Like your comment. Laughter is the Best Medicine. Is it about Look, or Comfort? Seems Comfort is important.

Howard and Hilda...what most of us never hope to aspire to, but nonetheless they do still raise a smile of two smilesmile !

Penstemmon Sun 17-Jul-16 23:02:28

I thought of Howard and Hilda yesterday evening in the pub. A 'mature'couple arrived to meet friends at the next table..they were wearing beige trousers and plain rust coloured tops..different styles admittedly ...but it did look as though they had planned the outfits! grin

coppernob I have the Cloth Kitty I made for my DDs . The DGC have played with her too!

We were ready to go out to church a few weeks ago when I realised DH and I were wearing almost identical clothes. Needless to say, I made him go and change!
