I don't want to poop on this lady's birthday. I'm delighted that anyone reaches such a grand age and enjoys such a good quality of life but please! What a lovely four generation family photo, something we all hope to copy.
This is meat and drink to those who support this spoiled, unelected, unaccountable family. . . I await others comments with interest!

Did you see the lady chasing her lost balloon on BBC Breakfast? Dressed up to the nines and had camped overnight in Windsor, only for her number 9 to blow away live on TV!

Ooh yes, I shall help organise a street party ( not yet sure when-does anyone know if there's a particular day earmarked?) when neighbour's will bring tables and chairs into our avenue. It's a wonderful,opportunity to meet everyone. We've had quite a few "newcomers" lately so will be a good excuse to get together. So hope the weather behaves itself!

Good luck to her, Happy birthday ma'am. I am not an ardent monarchist but she is a tough cookie who has been able to change her views of monarchy in Britain.

She has adhered to her fathers concept of duty to the nation. I think George VIs loyalty in the war by staying put in Britain thoughout the war earned him massive respect and has rubbed off on the Queen, particularly after Edward VIII's shenanigans.

My goal is to trot up the steps of St Paul's without faltering as she does. She has served the country well. We've expected her to shake hands with some dreadful villains and she hasn't blinked. I really don't want her to retire.

Respect - for her duty and service- monarchist or republican.

When you consider that the Queen's original role was to have been equiivalent to that of the less than successful Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, she has done a remarkable job.
No, I am not a royalist, some of the minor royals are true wastes of space, but as someone whose dream job would have probably been a racehorse trainer, Her Majesty has been a most remarkable monarch.
Absolutely no question that she has been far more of an asset to the nation than a drain.

I for one am grateful that we have someone at the helm who doesn't need to curry favour for votes, but instead puts the country first - and who is able to give the benefit of insight to successive prime ministers as she's been privy to what's been going on for all these years.

I consider the whole family to be an awful drain on the country's resources. We could do without them - Charles boys have decent enough jobs and fortunately they are educated well enough to be able to support themselves nowadays although a few of the Queen's grandchildren do as little as they possibly can and are hardly an example to others of their age.
Enough of my rant - don't want to waste any more time but I'd like the Monarchy to just disappear soon!!

the monarchy have been part of this country for centuries and I, for one, think that they're absolutely wonderful. they do a great deal for our country one way or another and this should continue for ever.

I was brought up by parents who absolutely loathed the royals and everything to do with them. And I can't say that I'm a fan of the minor royals who do so little for their privileged lives, but there seem to be fewer of them these days. However, I have nothing but admiration for the Queen, who hasn't put a foot wrong in all these years, who is still working at 90, who is admired and respected by people across the world. If the monarchs who follow carry on in this vein, I think they're very good value for money. Or perhaps we should have an elected president - Boris, anyone? Tony Blair? Ant and Dec?

And yes, I love a good party too, so Happy Birthday, Your Majesty!
