I've always retrieved dry food dropped on the floor. It hasn't killed me yet

I think we worry just a little too much about germs. Sometimes I think in our efforts to keep everything perfectly germ free we leave ourselves open to going down with a bump at the least intrusion of germs.

I think it was in a study by Prof David Strachan, that he suggested that a lack of childhood exposure to harmful germs and there being fewer childhood infections are to blame for the rise in allergies.

So we do use the 5 second rule and we haven't come to any harm yet.

As long as the floor is not really filthy I pick things up unless its one of those foods that is sloppy and needs scraping up.

Jalima that weight certainly seems pretty fatal, must confess I have never gone into the detail of a peck before.
