Slow clothes

It'll never catch on among the young people, though...

(Why is this thread called 'Slow Clothes'?

P. Anne is well known for 'recycling' outfits, good for her.
She wouldn't give a monkeys for what anyone thinks either! I've gone for classic (probably much to my children's despair!) much of my life so it's nothing new for me.

I saw the picture of P. Anne in that outfit and really it was awful , good for her that she still fits in it perfectly but it was horrible..

I do keep coats and shoes from way back but tend to like updating my wardrobe now and then.

Oh, I've now googled 'slow clothes'. Never come across the expression before!

I adore the fact that Princess keeps her clothes going for so long. It harks back to the views my dear old Grandma had. She would always buy the best she could afford, even having a suit made for her (every 30 years or so - the last one being in the 1970s that she wore to every wedding).

I would be happy to go along with this if my dress size hadn't gone up from a 12 to a16 over 40 years

If I admire any of the royals it is Princess Anne. Good on her still fitting into and wearing the same clothes. She's even had the same hairstyle for at least 40 years.

The hat she had on her head the other day at Ascot looked like a chicken. The one with the brownish outfit.

Mind you, I hate hats so virtually anyone looks better in a hat than me!

Wow, why don't I still look the way I did in 1983? I must be two stones heavier! Nothing from the 80's would look at me now! What have I done wrong? I don't ride a horse, perhaps that's it.

P. Anne is very slender and about 5'5'; I think she's naturally that size.

I recognise the shoes, I had a pair like that from Marks and Spencer's, in the 90s. I don't suppose PA got hers from there! x

Yes. Perhaps it is all the horse riding. Although her Aunt Margaret was small.

tanith don't like that at all. It does look as if it has come out of storage, especially the hat it looks crushed?

Mind you perhaps she has decided to join the movement so all power to her (little) elbow.

I think she should have Oxfammed that yellowy coat thirty three years ago.

You'd think she'd have varied the blouse - or is it somehow attached to the coat?

I expect PA has only worn this outfit about 4 times in 30 years and it was probably made by some couturier to the Queen so will still be wearable. If she likes it that's fine. Most of us wouldn't want to wear our old M and S outfits from 30 years ago, whereas if it was Christian Dior or Chanel that would be a different story.

An article in one of todays papers shows her in 4-5 equally old recycled outfits. I admire her for it.
I so wish she'd up date her hair style though.

If it was designer clothes I'd have to wear them everyday to get my money's worth out of them!
