Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark but cold here in Brackley this morning.
Mick

Dark and cold here in the W. Country too Michael but there are daffodil shoots in the local park, or maybe snowdrops, so spring is on the way.

Kiora Mon 19-Jan-15 07:19:30

Brrrr it looks cold and very frosty here Mick. Not looking forward to defrosting the car. If you can snuggle up and stay warm. If like me your off out to work then take care

Charleygirl Mon 19-Jan-15 07:24:30

Cannot sleep so I got up early. Cold here in NW London and about to get worse. Luckily my working days are over and there is little in the diary for this week so I can stay indoors. Keep warm everybody.

Thistledoo Mon 19-Jan-15 07:30:25

Good morning all, very cold and frosty here too, put heating up a notch.
Have spend a very painful night despite strong pain killers after falling awkwardly while at ice skating club yesterday, resulting in a broken arm.
An afternoon spent at A&E was not the experience I anticipated, staff were very cheerful, kept me laughing dispute being rushed off their feet.
Not looking forward to the day ahead, trying to do everything with one hand.

Good morning all!

Flipping cold in North Leicestershire this morning! Lots I'd tidying up to do this morning and, this afternoon, a trip to Derby to collect two Dgd from school and look after them until DD gets home!

Thistledoo, that is a shame, hope your pain abates soon! We have just has DD2 and her two children here for a week as she broke her wrist ice skating! Two weeks on and she is able to do lots more now and has little pain! flowers

Oh dear Thistle that sounds horrible! Much respect though that you can stand up on skates!

Looking out of the window the sky is clear and the car just looks wet. No ice. Brilliant!

Off to a friends for lunch today. Diet tomorrow!

Happy Monday's Everyone.

Morning folks! Lot of tyres screeching on ice noise this morning as DH departed. He'll have decided to change to low range gears when he reached a certain point above a cliff edge!

Meanwhile, this is rather a jolly tune for a Monday morning even if you don't understand Japanese.

Brendawymms Mon 19-Jan-15 08:13:42

Good morning all. Hope the arm is a little easier Thistle.
Very heavy frost and perhaps a mono layer of snow here on the Weald in East Sussex.
It's the charity shop this morning. I always promise myself that I won't buy anything but invariably I do. Such great value.

GillT57 Mon 19-Jan-15 08:21:27

Good morning, started the week at 7.15 scraping ice off the car. Sorry to hear about your arm thistle hope you soon get adept at managing with just the one arm.

nannotgran Mon 19-Jan-15 08:46:06

Very cold thick frost but a bright sky temperature is 0 dec here in north essex. So we are very lucky so far no snow have a good day

ninathenana Mon 19-Jan-15 09:08:41

Morning all.

Grey, dry, cold and very still here in N Kent.
DH got up at silly o'clock and has gone back to bed. Sounds like a good idea !

Oldgreymare Mon 19-Jan-15 09:17:02

Good morning.
Crystal clear here, an icy cold pale blue sky.
Dry, in all senses of the word! (Still no vino and well past half way now....phew!)
Thistle much sympathy ( and much admiration!)

daffydil Mon 19-Jan-15 09:19:55

Good morning all.
Sorry to hear of your problem*thistle*. It's little things like getting the top off the milk carton that can be frustrating my DSIL told me. He had an accident too resulting in a broken arm. He is a Ranger with the Lake District National Park and slipped on ice a few years ago. Had to be brought down by Mountain Rescue. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Very cold and frosty here in mid Essex but bright sunshine.

hildajenniJ Mon 19-Jan-15 09:38:16

Good morning everybody. The sky is half grey cloud and half blue sky!!! The birds in the garden are fighting over the seed. I seem to have lots of starlings which is very unusual for here.
Poor Thistle. I commiserate with you. I broke my wrist falling on the ice at my garden gate, a few years ago. I spent seven weeks in plaster!

Lona Mon 19-Jan-15 09:38:50

Morning all! Snow has gone except for on top of the cars, but it's not icy just cold.
Haven't been out in my car for eight days so it will take some warming up I think!
Thistle I hope you feel more comfortable soon flowers

harrigran Mon 19-Jan-15 10:03:01

Good morning, we had a heavy snow shower at 2am and it is still lying. DH is quite poorly with this infernal virus so we are forced to stay cosy in the house.

janerowena Mon 19-Jan-15 10:18:32

hildajenniJ I have just been saying the same thing, about the starlings! I had never seen them in my garden until yesterday, now they are mobbing the smaller birds off the feeders so I have had to withdraw the fat balls and resort to ground feeding.

We still have a thin layer of snow, despite the sun. I shall have to salt the patio I suppose. Still, first time this year, so not bad.

ffinnochio Mon 19-Jan-15 10:36:01

That was a jolly and interesting interlude B, on this wet and grey Monday morning. Thanks!

appygran Mon 19-Jan-15 11:24:20

Good morning all from a dull and very cold Cheshire. If it had not been for walking the dog I would have opted for a duvet day - not sure whether dog is a curse or a blessing.

Thistle flowers

Bags lifted my mood thank you
