I've just taken stock and:

My mum is dying
DD3 and her children are still here
The Idiot still is
DD2 has broken her wrist and her DH has a new job, can't take time off yet, so she and 2 more DGD are coming to stay
DSiL isn't coping with the death of her estranged son
DN is being harassed by her two eldest sons at the instigation of her estranged husband
A cat (don't know which one!)has a funny tummy and has diarrhoea in hard to reach places
DD1 is stressing about DS1 preferring to go to the football rather than out for a meal for her 40th
And the dishwasher is useless and keeps leaving 'stuff' on everything!

Is it too late to hibernate! grin

loopylou Wed 07-Jan-15 16:46:40

Bl...dy hell kitty, b....r hibernating, I'd emigrate!
Seriously though I can't believe you're still vertical, big (hug) and flowers is all I can offer sad

annsixty Wed 07-Jan-15 16:48:52

"Things can only get better". Hollow laugh from me.

KatyK Wed 07-Jan-15 17:01:58

Kitty flowers If it's any consolation, things are not looking too rosy here either but I won't steal your thunder. sad

grannyactivist Wed 07-Jan-15 17:07:14

Kitty sometimes there is a deluge of stuff that all comes at once and it's just plain hard to deal with. Have a huge (((hug))) and some flowers and a few ♥♥♥♥♥♥'s that I just copied from another thread. smile

Bellasnana Wed 07-Jan-15 17:11:16

Kitty. You have my sympathy flowers

Nelliemoser Wed 07-Jan-15 17:19:49

KittyL A big (((hug))) for you as I can do nothing to really help.
and for all you others feeling beset by life's difficulties right now.

Grannyknot Wed 07-Jan-15 17:35:26

kitty throw your hands up in the air and head for the hills. Screaming. They'll all tiptoe around you at least for a while.

Can't the cat have diarrhoea where everyone else gets it?

I don't mean to make light of the situation, but it seems a sense of humour has not deserted you.

Start with the small stuff. Run a dishwasher cleaner tablet through on hot. Top up the rinse aid and salt and perhaps clean out the drain thingy at the bottom .
Then pour out a glass of really nice something, possibly something you were keeping for a special occasion.
Then do a runner.

Galen Wed 07-Jan-15 18:20:03

You poor thing! I can only send my sympathy!

FlicketyB Wed 07-Jan-15 18:23:33

flowers wine, lots of it. It would be stupid to even begin to offer consolation. Your in a rotten place, I just hope things improve soon.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 07-Jan-15 18:34:03

Kitty I'm surprised you can still make a sensible post. I would be talking gibberish by now. sad flowers

kittylester Wed 07-Jan-15 18:44:53

Thank you all for your sympathies! I wasn't really expecting that - I'm finding it funny and feeling good that I'm coping! DH is being brilliant too.

Please don't worry about me - there are people who have real things to worry about. illvlet you know tomorrow's problem!! grin

loopylou Wed 07-Jan-15 18:48:14

Possibly a touch of hysteria kicking in?!
Still think you're amazing not to have collapsed in a gibbering, quivering heap (I would!)

harrigran Wed 07-Jan-15 19:31:21

kitty flowers There are no words that help, sh*t happens but you have kept your sense of humour.

Ariadne Wed 07-Jan-15 19:34:39

Yes, you have, ND you always do, kitty! sunshine for you xx

Ariadne Wed 07-Jan-15 19:41:47

And...

Tegan Wed 07-Jan-15 19:55:05

The cat problem is definately a 'straw that broke the camels back' situation. I fully understand DS1 wanting to go to the match and DD1 should understand that [imo]. We're going to Leicester races tomorrow kitty; you could escape and come with us wink....

Penstemmon Wed 07-Jan-15 19:58:00

kitty flowers &{{{}}}} hope that things start to sort themselves out soon, especially the cat! confused

Deedaa Wed 07-Jan-15 21:37:26

DS has just texted to tell us that the trouble with his car was much simpler (and cheaper!!) than he had feared. This was followed by a text telling us that he and his girlfriend and baby will have to leave their flat by March as it's being sold! One step forwards - twenty five back! Hope this isn't going to be the pattern for the rest of the year!

At least the cats are fine at the moment!

Mishap Wed 07-Jan-15 22:16:34

Definitely hibernate!! No other solution! Sorry that 2015 is starting so challengingly.

Soutra Wed 07-Jan-15 23:15:00

You could try getting last year's calendar out of the recycling and sick it up on the wall pretending it is stii 2014? (Unless it was even worse)
Seriously every sympathy and my admiration for not decking everyobody who has wished you a "Happy New Year" flowers

ninathenana Wed 07-Jan-15 23:53:38

It's all been said kitty so I'm sending you a crate of wine and flowers for every week of 2015.

Iam64 Thu 08-Jan-15 09:09:16

kitty, onwards and upwards flowers

gillybob Thu 08-Jan-15 09:35:59

New Year is often such a let down. You end the previous year feeling like you can draw a line under all the bad stuff and the New Year will be a fresh new start only to find when the clock strikes 12 everything is exactly as it was and sadly, (poor you) kittylester, often even worse than it was. As many have already said, I do hope things get better soon. I'm sure you have had more than your fair share of worries! flowers
