I've just taken stock and:

My mum is dying
DD3 and her children are still here
The Idiot still is
DD2 has broken her wrist and her DH has a new job, can't take time off yet, so she and 2 more DGD are coming to stay
DSiL isn't coping with the death of her estranged son
DN is being harassed by her two eldest sons at the instigation of her estranged husband
A cat (don't know which one!)has a funny tummy and has diarrhoea in hard to reach places
DD1 is stressing about DS1 preferring to go to the football rather than out for a meal for her 40th
And the dishwasher is useless and keeps leaving 'stuff' on everything!

Is it too late to hibernate! grin

No,*anno*, but once when I was doing a dressmaking class, I took my material out of the basket , wondered why I couldn't shake it out and - well you can guess the rest! Surprisingly, I never went back!! blush

annodomini Fri 09-Jan-15 15:06:48

If you ever feel inclined to leave home, kitty, you could make a tour of gransnet members that would take you about a year. BTW, I bet your cat hasn't thought of having diarrhoea in your shoe. grin sunshine wine wine wine......

loopylou Fri 09-Jan-15 11:03:44

Spare bed here if you need a retreat!

NfkDumpling Fri 09-Jan-15 07:42:13

Well, at least you managed to get the police to respond! Can they do anything? Accusations of paedophilia and thrown stones isn't very nice. Especially on top of everything else! I'd stay in bed if I were you. wine

kittylester Fri 09-Jan-15 07:30:42

And, it just got sillier!!

Mum seems to be rallying and no one is expecting her to die anytime soon, but she's lost her dentures!

After visiting mum yesterday afternoon, I got home to discover DH hoovering the dining room carpet! confused. Someone had thrown a stone at the window and the (very thin, very old, maybe original Victorian) glass had broken and the floor was covered. DD3 and DH gave chase with DD ringing 999 as they went. As she was put through to the police, she disconnected as she realised a broken window is not really an emergency.

They caught up with the culprit who admitted it and called DH lots of rude names and a paedophile! DD took photos of the boy and his girlfriend to more accusations of paedophilia. They came home and reported the incident on 101 but, half an hour later, a couple of police officers came to investigate the dropped call!

I'm definitely staying in bed today! grin

gillybob Thu 08-Jan-15 09:35:59

New Year is often such a let down. You end the previous year feeling like you can draw a line under all the bad stuff and the New Year will be a fresh new start only to find when the clock strikes 12 everything is exactly as it was and sadly, (poor you) kittylester, often even worse than it was. As many have already said, I do hope things get better soon. I'm sure you have had more than your fair share of worries! flowers

Iam64 Thu 08-Jan-15 09:09:16

kitty, onwards and upwards flowers

ninathenana Wed 07-Jan-15 23:53:38

It's all been said kitty so I'm sending you a crate of wine and flowers for every week of 2015.

Soutra Wed 07-Jan-15 23:15:00

You could try getting last year's calendar out of the recycling and sick it up on the wall pretending it is stii 2014? (Unless it was even worse)
Seriously every sympathy and my admiration for not decking everyobody who has wished you a "Happy New Year" flowers

Mishap Wed 07-Jan-15 22:16:34

Definitely hibernate!! No other solution! Sorry that 2015 is starting so challengingly.

Deedaa Wed 07-Jan-15 21:37:26

DS has just texted to tell us that the trouble with his car was much simpler (and cheaper!!) than he had feared. This was followed by a text telling us that he and his girlfriend and baby will have to leave their flat by March as it's being sold! One step forwards - twenty five back! Hope this isn't going to be the pattern for the rest of the year!

At least the cats are fine at the moment!

Penstemmon Wed 07-Jan-15 19:58:00

kitty flowers &{{{}}}} hope that things start to sort themselves out soon, especially the cat! confused

Tegan Wed 07-Jan-15 19:55:05

The cat problem is definately a 'straw that broke the camels back' situation. I fully understand DS1 wanting to go to the match and DD1 should understand that [imo]. We're going to Leicester races tomorrow kitty; you could escape and come with us wink....

Ariadne Wed 07-Jan-15 19:41:47

Ariadne Wed 07-Jan-15 19:34:39

loopylou Wed 07-Jan-15 18:48:14

Possibly a touch of hysteria kicking in?!
Still think you're amazing not to have collapsed in a gibbering, quivering heap (I would!)

kittylester Wed 07-Jan-15 18:44:53

Thank you all for your sympathies! I wasn't really expecting that - I'm finding it funny and feeling good that I'm coping! DH is being brilliant too.

Please don't worry about me - there are people who have real things to worry about. illvlet you know tomorrow's problem!! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 07-Jan-15 18:34:03

Kitty I'm surprised you can still make a sensible post. I would be talking gibberish by now. sad flowers

FlicketyB Wed 07-Jan-15 18:23:33

flowers wine, lots of it. It would be stupid to even begin to offer consolation. Your in a rotten place, I just hope things improve soon.

Galen Wed 07-Jan-15 18:20:03

You poor thing! I can only send my sympathy!
