Thanks for the reminder Gill we have watched several times in the past and its quite awesome to think of astronauts up there flying around..

It is indeed awesome, I shall go out and try to see it, just thinking about those people flying along is something very special.

However, I think I posted on another thread that we have had the third degree from DGD (age 6) wanting to know why he was going over before they were asleep, where had he been, where was he going, how does he manage to deliver all the presents around the world etc etc. So plan ahead to be able to answer those awkward questions.
We said he was enroute from Australia to Eastern Europe and would be coming back here later when British children are asleep.
A neighbour told his children that Father Christmas was doing a 'fly past'.

Bumping this up as its 5pm .. not long now...

I just checked again and its 6:13 in London so I have plenty of time..

Never mind the GCs, DH and DCs will be watching out, all space-crazy!

Looked for it earlier but too cloudy. Check the times carefully, it passes over every 90 min, but is in the sky and brighter on its northerly orbit. There is an excellent android app that points to it in the sky and tells you how bright and how long it will be visible for.

The timings over the UK are pretty much the same for any location.

It's next due at 18:11 today, but will be low in the sky and not very bright.

Tomorrow at 17:20 looks good, bright and visible for 6 min.

Great view of the ISS tonight a good clear view for a good 4 minutes OH and I stood out in the garden and he thinks I'm mad waving at the astronauts.. the moon was pretty spectacular too..

We, GS and I, have just seen Santa's sleigh pass over. Clear night, so he was very big and bright. In sight for quite a while, high in the sky, quite amazing. Strange to think that there are 6 people orbiting in it atm.

Next pass due at 18:58 but will be very low in sky and only visible for less than 2 min. Look WSW for it.

Glad I wasn't the only one waving Tanith . Grandchildren thought me rather dotty!!

No Grandchildren here but I was out, sadly it was too cloudy and I got very cold.The moon showed very briefly. So pleased some of you saw it.

We saw it - it was quite wonderful on this crystal clear night to see a spacecraft pass over and know that there were real astronauts in it - as you say Pompa.

We saw its entire traverse.
