In times past, I have had a look at ahem, netmxxs
They have a system over there of how many people lurk.
The average seemed to be 1 person posting and 30 lurkers.

So if there are about 300 people posting, that equates to 9000 people lurking. Though I suppose they wouldnt necessarily be all members.
Am I making sense at all?

I do post but I also lurk sometimes. There are some such sad threads that I don't know what I could usefully say. I check regularly to see how the OP is doing. Other times topics are not necessarily ones that I know about so there`s no point in posting. I do check in every day and am so glad to know there`s such a positive, supportive online community. Maybe there are others like me?

Ana I am when you look at the zillions of threads lots of you have been on. But it is nice to be noticed. I'm one of these people who take a long time to settle in. I'm muffle muffle years old and I don't feel comfortable in my own skin.

Just counted the threads I've been on-31 in the few weeks since joining. It's amazing how time flies when your'e having fun.

I don't bother entering the competitions any more. At the beginning of Gransnet I used to receive the occasional free book, now with so many "new" members, I don't receive anything so I just don't enter.
