Sitting in Logan airport, Boston, waiting to return home after helping my son to clear out stuff after his wife walked out (long story). He is devastated.
Anyway due to his work I had to be early, then discovered my flight is delayed 2 hours.
Thank goodness for Gransnet.

Crow sad
Nothing worse than seeing our DCs unhappy. At least you were able to be there to support him.
Have a safe journey back.

Sorry to hear this has happened to your son Crow. It's so true, when our DCs hurt, we hurt too. Hope your son is OK

Safe journey home and hope you get some rest on the flight. flowers

crow sad. I was naive enough to think that my children would grow up and be happy for the rest of their lives. Since realising that isn't necessarily so, I have really struggled at times to come too terms with not being able to "fix" whatever is wrong and restore equilibrium ad quickly as possible.

flowers - as you say, thank goodness for forums like these.

Hope your journey wasn't/isn't being too eventful, crow.

Crow Sorry to hear about your ds. When our children hurt, we hurt too, don't we? flowers

Seems to be the norm these days, Crow. As DH said the other day, after a mercy mission to fix DD's blocked toilet, 'I thought when I reached 70 they'd start doing things for ME' grin

Hope you have a good flight back.

Someone on here once told me the source of the saying " parents are only as happy as their unhappiest child". It is as true today as it ever was.

Great sympathy, Crow. Airports! I hate them at the best of times.
And sorry about your son; This happened to my son too, and she left the children with him as well and never returned, so he raised them alone.
Best wishes to you and your son.

Crow, I hope you're home by now? We'll always, always be their mother, and we'll never, ever stop being there for them and doing our utmost to ease things for them when they are despairing. I hope things ease soon for your son. flowers x
