Morning Mick and all. We've got rain. And greyness. Typical - friend and I have arranged to meet at our local well known roses grower for coffee and an amble through their glorious rose gardens.

Morning all. Cloudy here in SE Hampshire and the forecast is for light rain late morning. The gardens need some rain so an hour's steady downpour would be quite acceptable.

DGC coming for a sleepover today so parents can go to the ball and have a lie in tomorrow! We only have one spare bedroom so they have to go in twin beds in there and DH thinks an almost 13-year old DGD needs privacy from her 9-year old brother and wants to put up a clothes line with a sheet over it to provide same. grin

I have used my veto and said they share a tent when they go camping so it will be fine for one night and she can use the bathroom for dressing etc.

Morning All and Mick,

Off to Sussex to our DS's 40th Birthday Bash tomorrow.

He has hired the local Guide Hut plus bouncy castle, face painting, music, bubble machine. Also something called Rodeo Ride !

Food and drink provided by Sainsbury's.

Pity the weather has broken but I am sure we will all have fun. grin

Good morning from north Essex.Rain over night after I had stood and warted before I went to bed. Alot of cloud in the sky but hope it will brighten up later

NfkDumpling Fri 27-Jun-14 07:53:55

Rain overnight here too and high greyness now. Off to stand in a darkened National Trust room today so a bit of greyness is an advantage - we get to keep the blinds up!

Good morning to you all, cooler here and a little cloudy. A short shower yesterday evening, but not enough to do the garden much good. Enjoy your days.

Morning all. Sunny morning in East Renfrewshire.

After cleaning up the pigeon s..t from the garden yesterday I notice it's as bad as ever. I swear I will shoot the beggars. I don't mind them coming into the garden, but, wish they would stop using it as a toilet. Grrrr !

And breath. grin

Good morning!

It's pickling down here in North Leicestershire and has been doing so all night off and on! This is good and bad - the garden needs it but the hall doesn't!!! sad

Today I will ring the roofman (again!!) And go and see mum!

Enjoy your days!

Morning all.
Hazy sunshine in N. Kent. We had some rain late yesterday but not all night as forecast. I've got a quiet day apart from the weekly shop.

Lona Fri 27-Jun-14 08:44:12

Good morning! It's dull and dreary here too.

Dragonfly Are you in Cheshire I wonder? I was at the gardens of a local well known rose grower yesterday. Some gorgeous plants. smile

A lazy morning for me (aren't they all?) and hairdressers this afternoon. I'm not happy with my hairstyle at the moment, so some changes will have to be made. If my hair isn't right I feel quite ratty!

Enjoy the bouncy castle NanKate wink

Good morning everyone!

Not a nice start here in Buckley, Flintshire. Dull, cloudy, cool in the mid 50sF with a Met Office warning of stormy & thundery conditions later, heavy rain, etc........Ugh!!!
This weather affects my arthritis badly & makes getting around my flat cumbersome.

Was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my mid 30s & over the following 40 yrs or so had hips replaced 4 times. I used to be a keen swimmer, cyclist & hill walker but now more or less confined to my flat.
The day I became redundant in 1980 from a well known Oil Refinery as a research assistant chemist I was having my 1st hip-op & sadly lost contact with many colleagues.

A DRO told me I would never work again but the CAB asked if I'd like to become an advice worker. It was the best thing I ever did. I became a money advisor/debt counsellor & tutor for N.Wales NACAB, retired in 1989 then 6 months later went into Mental Health Advocacy & Victim Support & again retired in 2008.

Then, whilst working as a help line operator for a welsh national assembly organisation I did a degree in Voluntary Studies at Lampeter University & got a DipHE.

OK folks, enough for now, hope I haven't bored anyone with the above but just felt need to re-cap in writing as to just where I've been!!!!
Take care all & enjoy.
Dave xx

PS All the above was unpaid work, expenses only!!!!

Good morning all. As lona says, the weather doesn't look promising. I'm due to meet up with old friends at Dunham Massey at lunchtime and was looking forward to seeing the gardens at a lovely time of year.

I am waiting for the grass cutter to come, I just hope that he beats the next shower of rain. The sun is peeping through in NW London, Andy will be playing on centre court later today so at least he is assured of finishing his match as the cover can be pulled over.

I have become fairly square eyed as I have watched a lot of football and now that the tennis is in full swing, I will be spoiled for choice early evenings.

annodomini Fri 27-Jun-14 09:07:31

davestan, I've just read your post. You have done so well to make the best of what must have been a bad blow. And well done on the Higher Ed achievements.

Anne58 Fri 27-Jun-14 09:08:30

Not looking very promising here in North Devon, raining on and off.

harrigran Fri 27-Jun-14 09:13:41

Good morning, cloudy here but no rain as yet. retail therapy today I think.

sparkygran Fri 27-Jun-14 11:12:25

Dull, cloudy and quite cold here in N Ireland don`t think the rain is too far away. I will be watching Andy this afternoon as well Charleygirl thank goodness for the roof on Centre Court.

Good for you davestan you certainly have given a lot of your time to others
