Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey start this morning signs of rain, off to Bath later with National Express.
Visited Oxford yesterday it was chaos as a crash on M40/A34 blocked the A34, stopping buses running to and from Bicester on schedule.

Morning all and Mick.

Had a terrible thunder storm last night in the Thames Valley, such loud thunder. Felt sorry for the rowers sleeping in tents in our park ready for the Regatta today.

Good Morning from Cheshire. We are off south today to see my son.

Why does he have to live 200 miles away on the wrong side of the M25?
What was wrong with Manchester?

So it's a Motorway fest. 3miles then the M6, M5, M42, M40, M25. A22 .

Dull, overcast and chillier here. I feel for all those who'd been looking forward to a sunny weekend, especially as it's supposed to get sunnier again on Monday. At least it's not raining - yet!

Have a good day All.

Good morning all, and we obviously had some rain in the night, the windows are wet! The sun is now shining, and I think it will be cooler today than it has been although living on the coast it is never as hot as inland, thank goodness. Do not envy you Nellie motorway driving is something we avoid at all costs, but then my other half does not drive a lot these days. Enjoy your days.

Lona Sat 14-Jun-14 07:57:47

Don't envy you that journey nellie, but worth it when you get there! sunshine

Good morning, it's sunny at the moment but rain is forecast this afternoon, so I won't be fence painting until tomorrow! Deep joy!

Good morning everyone!

It is very overcast here in North Leicestershire but no rain in the forecast!

Today, we are going to watch DGS1 cycle racing! He absolutely loves it and is getting quite good! He won a medal last time which should have been bronze as he came third but, as they had run out of bronzes, had to be gold! We are having lunch at DD1's house then going to see the potential new house and then to their school fete. DH thinks I will be watching the England game with him at 11 pm confused

Nellie I hope your journey passes quickly and without any delays! flowers

Enjoy your days everyone sunshine

Weak sunshine here in Devon. Not raining - which means the allotment needs watering - and not as hot as yesterday was.

Bellasnana Sat 14-Jun-14 08:06:53

Good morning from Malta where it is as hot as Hell. I have already hung three loads of washing on the roof and expect it will be dry in no time.

We are invited to a lunch party today which will be nice just as long as nobody mentions the 'c' word.

Hope you all have a good day. Hope your long drive won't be as bad as you think, Nellie sunshine

Sunny here in North Devon, but not as clear as yesterday; the family is gathering for the final celebration of Theseus 70th birthday, as one important present wasn't ready in time. DS1 and DDiL are doing the Bideford triathlon tomorrow as well.

Morning all. Sunny but cool so far here in Cornwall. We have our WI afternoon tea in the village hall today. I hope we get lots of people. Later we will be watching the you-know-what and eating Italian food.

annodomini Sat 14-Jun-14 09:18:38

Good morning. It's sunny here too, after some unexpected rain yesterday.

Lots of white horses and dull in the Baltic. Hope it brightens tomorrow for Warnemunde.

ninathenana Sat 14-Jun-14 09:55:04

Morning all.
Dull but warm in N.Kent.
We had our first only ? BBQ of the year yesterday with DD and DGSx2 in glorious sunshine. Ah, well back to the usual British summer.

Nelliemoser do have a safe trip down south.

The answer to your question IMO is 'the weather'.

We had a first hols in what I call Up North a couple of years back, although it had fabulous countryside and we loved York and Whitby I was frozen and this was May. So that is why I live in the south.

I would be interested to hear what others think.

Nelliemoser Sat 14-Jun-14 10:01:07

We are now an hour late leaving due to OHs faffing about. How about his question "Will I need a waterproof"? Well we are away untill Monday and live in Britain . arrgghhhhhhhhh!

Gagagran Sat 14-Jun-14 10:18:38

NanKate I was born and lived in the north until 2003 but always dreaded the winters we got in the Pennines. There was always frost and snow in varying amounts and I really hate being cold.

There is no doubt the weather is gentler "down south" and I love that. It just feels kinder to your body, especially an ageing one. There is no way we are going to live back up north!

We had a cracker of a storm from 4am which woke me (or was it DH's snores?) and I went and laid on the spare bed and watched the lightning in the sky, hoping to fall asleep again. No such luck. Gave up and went downstairs for a cuppa at 5am. I suspect 40 winks might be on the agenda later.

Happy days everyone! sunshine

Morning all, very hot here already and very still, no breeze at all. The large rug I washed earlier is almost dry.
We had planned to eat out later and have just realized that we will have to reserve a table as the combination of football and hot weather will make for a busy restaurant

Kitty the story of your GS's medals made DH roar with laughter. grin

Have a good day everyone. sunshine

Morning Mick and all. It's cloudy but bright and muggy in S Staffs. Off to do my dad's shopping and run the gauntlet of my evil tempered stepmother. Mick, enjoy Bath. One of my favourite places. Hope everyone has a good day.

Dragonfly1 Sat 14-Jun-14 10:36:41

PS safe trip, Nellie, and I hope you and your hubby enjoy lunch Bella. Will be thinking of you.
