Last night about 10.30 I was shutting the curtains in our room when I heard "serious" baby crying, a door slammed and saw our lovely neighbour let's call her Rachel striding down her drive with 6 month old son in his pram bawling fit to burst. Aha I thought she can't get him off to sleep, once round the village should do the trick! Now Rachel has long blonde hair and our road is well lit so when I saw her todwy looking frazzled I enquired sympathetically how many circuits it had taken to get him off.
She assured me that it had been her husband Tom who had taken the baby out and he had got even louder before eventually falling asleep. I am just puzzled. I am sure of what I saw - but why say otherwise? Obviously I left it at that but wonder if I would be any use whatsoever as a witness should the occasion arise!
What "back then" inconvenience would annoy today's youngsters?

I hate anything unsolvable! I must drive my OH nuts always trying to find the answer to something - these days it's mainly "now where did I put? . . ."
