Pam Ayres

Great, Flower. I really like Pam Ayres. Must look for this book, as I have a few of hers that I have enjoyed.

It is called You Made Me Late Again. Very funny as usual.

Oh how lovely, what a bargain too. I do love Pam Ayres. She is so funny and generous to her fellow contestants on Just a Minute. Some guests seem to get cross if they are not having so much air time as others.
I think she would have loved your haddock story Flower she may have used it in a future poem.

yes, I agree, she does seem like a very warm and friendly person. heard her talking on radio 4 a few months ago and realised that she comes from a village only about 4 miles from my village, which I didn't know , that's Stanford-in-the -vale it used to be in Berks, but since mid 1970's we are all in Oxfordshire, when they moved county boundaries.

She was on Radio 2 this morning, the Graham Norton Show. Worth listening on iplayer if you missed it.

I had brought one of Pam Ayres books a few years ago , it was the first autobiogrphy she did.
I used to work at the same place as Pam in the 60`s for the MOD ,and recall doing one day a week college for public secor workers in Oxford at the Oxford College of further education in cowley rd.
I wrote to her once she became famous, whilst in middle east via BBC Radio Oxford as she did a show on it , and she replied saying that she semed to know myself.
Gather she lives near Worcester these days.
And not her home area of Standford in the Vale near Wantage.
