I don't think I've ever heard anyone say or read anywhere the term "English Parliament". There's no such thing anyway. There is a Scottish Parliament, a Welsh one (National Assembly for Wales), a Northern Ireland Assembly, and the British or UK Parliament.

I think England and Wales are often lumped together because they share the same laws for the most part. Scotland has different laws from the rest of the UK on many subjects and always has had.

It is argued by some that it isn't fair that England doesn't have its own parliament or assembly.

There are those who refer to the English Parliament, when there is no English Parliament. Their ignorance.

I have been hearing how hot it is in England, that Wales has had the top temperatures and that Scotland is scorching. I just wish some of the reporters and weather people took into account those of us in the East of England who, until the last two days, have just had pleasantly sunny afternoons and no scorching weather at all. It did get to 26 here today with a refreshing breeze.

When I use a phrase like "it is argued by some" it means exactly that, no more and no less. It does not mean, for instance, that I make that argument.

It was S Wales - so glad that I wasn't in N Wales then!!

I am un Northern Ireland. What annoys me is that we are not included in the AgeUk lottery and Saga magazine never have special offers here.

Only a little higher in the North Jalima ?, just Wales has a North, Mid, South, West , it is a country not a county , even a slight difference in parts of the Welsh language in North and South

There's also northern Scotland, southern Scotland, and central Scotland ("the central belt"). I think descriptions of Scotland probably cover all the available English terms and, in some cases, Gaelic ones too.

Oh, I see. I never listen to weather forecasts.

The weather forecast refers to Wales and Scotland but do mention at times some islands in Scotland, sorry I can’t recall the name
