THREE horses dead- and for what?

I've just commented on the other thread about this. Can you imagine the outcry there would be if three jockeys had died? But horses are just a disposable commodity in the racing industry.

The death toll continues to rise each year, claiming more lives. Since 2010, 36 horses have died at the #GrandNational

Disgusting. All done for money. Horse racing is one of the million reasons I have for disliking the royal family, including the queen.

Fleurpepper, exactly, it's horrendous, the way animals are treated. I couldn't believe what I was hearing on Sky News, a 'trainer' saying the horses were bred for racing - and loved it! So, stop breeding/racing them. We've stopped bear baiting, cock fighting, fox hunting, hare coursing etc. - so now's the time.

I'm another that's disgusted. It really is time to stop this brutality. People that support this, use all sorts of unconvincing rationale. Disgraceful.

There are too many people out there who'd support racing because of the gamblers who bring the money in!!
