A like button?

Its an excellent idea, but after years of asking GN nothing has happened.

It would be utterly awful.

I'm afraid I disagree, it could cause all sorts of upset.

I think it would make for fewer comments and interaction so I’m not keen on the idea.

Not a new idea we have asked many times and been rejected or ignored a million times
I ve no idea why some think it would cause loads of trouble it works perfectly finely on other social media I ve been on FB about 14 years and NEVER EVER seen anything happen because of the like button ?
It’s absolutely no difference to me posting

I don't think we are "allowed" one, anyway, because it's been mentioned before.

We could have a "like it" or "lump it" button.

It would attract the type of people with that kind of mentality and reduce the site to cliques. Sometimes I feel that there should be a minimum number of words in a post to make people express themselves rather than just liking what others say.

I’ve sometimes just written “agree” or “hear hear” i admit. It didn’t take longer than clicking “like”. However I do prefer actual comments, otherwise it’s a bit pointless as a forum.

I prefer a written comment - it's a forum not an election.

Though sometimes I feel guilty about reading and then leaving without a comment.

That would discriminate against those who often haven't the energy to do more than agree.

I often do that or simply post a link for that reason.

It would deter many of the less confident posters.
