Anyone up for a 'Traitors thread'?

Fallingstar Sat 24-Oct-26 11:17:27

It reminds me of an episode of the Sally Wainwright police drama Scott and Bailey where the DCI asks one of the detectives who, despite extensive forensic evidence, was doubtful of someone’s conviction Do you think he’s too good looking to be a serial killer?

I can understand the contestants not suspecting James A or Kenny as they started as Faithfuls. James A really doesn’t enjoy being a Traitor (although he did seem to enjoy bumping off Ross) and is keeping a fairly low profile. Kenny is behaving no differently to how he was before he was recruited and is well liked. Poor old James Blunt is so desperate to be his friend.

But why is Maya deemed untouchable? I’d not heard of her before this (not good at modern celebrity culture) and I’m afraid I can’t take to her. She seems incredibly vain and is constantly preening. OTOH, in the to-camera interviews she seems very nervous of her position as if she’s winging it and on borrowed time.

Romesh (who I’d quite like to win) is going to feel like a marked man now. He’s survived two occasions where he could have been murdered (Rob and Miranda going instead), had one of his shield pieces removed and now he’s openly said he doesn’t think either Joanne or Sharon are Traitors. He can only hope he’s created a diversion by pointing at Michael for no other reason (it seems) than that’s he’s a brilliant actor but perhaps also because he was so adamant that Maya, James A and Kenny should be protected after the last mission. Michael was hostile to Sharon over her dissent and is part of the reason she’s probably about to be banished. So, as much as I like him too he’s not in my good books at the moment.

I also hope Romesh does well. And am hoping he will start to figure things out a bit more and stop listening to the background noise. Everyone keeps saying how Michael is super clever and in charge of the round table but I don’t actually see this. He has been just as misled as everyone. And I don’t think the traitors have to be clever, just really good at keeping a low profile or lying. They need to stop looking for ‘clever’. Hannah was the exception not the rule.

I agree Graphite is a good experiment.
The contestants single out one person often for the most flimsy reasons
and then everyone goes with the flow. Nobody suddenly challenges this and decides to throw Maya’s name in the ring. But I wonder if that is because everyone round the table only sees a pretty face and doesn’t credit Maya with the smarts needed to be a successful traitor?

I think Maya comes across as guileless.
She's playing a good game so far.

JenniRen Sat 24-Oct-26 10:30:35

And why are contestants always so apologetic when voting for someone’s banishment? If you think someone’s a Traitor, why apologise?

They probably look apologetic because they feel guilty that they have voted for someone who has been kind, friendly, whom they like.

Fallingstar Sat 24-Oct-26 10:22:28

In which case I hope she wins.

For next Thursday’s episode, I wouldn’t be surprised to see that Claudia has replaced all of the Faithfuls with exploded pumpkin heads. Frankly, pumpkin pulp would have more chance of catching a Traitor.

Why is barely any suspicion falling on Maya? In Miranda’s Great Creaky Floorboard Theory, she had Joanne one side and Maya the other so why did she only suspect Joanne? And did no-one notice how keen Maya was to pair up with Kenny for the scarecrow mission?

It’s as if she has a protective force field around her and yet I hear nothing from her that would single her out as a cast iron Faithful - unless that’s how the programme is being edited.

And why are contestants always so apologetic when voting for someone’s banishment? If you think someone’s a Traitor, why apologise?

Having said all that, it a great experiment in psychology to demonstrate herd mentality aka groupthink.

The psychological phenomenon that occurs when a cohesive group of people makes irrational or suboptimal decisions because the desire for harmony, conformity, and consensus overrides critical evaluation of alternative options. Psychology Today.

Pretty much every time, Fallingstar.

I haven’t watched this show before, so is it always the case that the faithful never look at those they have never questioned before simply because they ‘seem’ faithful. I mean if they are just looking for traitorous tendencies they are bound to fail because the traitors - if they are good at it - will be trying to look as faithful as possible. Perhaps because we know the traitors is easy to critisize but I wonder if finally the penny will drop and someone will say ‘hang on why have these people’s names never been mentioned at the round table by anyone?’
I mean is it always this way?

James Blunt admits he is always wrong but he still keeps blathering on, the man is completely gormless.

He sure isn’t much of a detective, but none of them are.

You know it's bad when they decide the three most trustworthy people are in fact the three traitors 😂😂😂

That made us laugh too. James B is so enthusiastically wrong every week. I love Kenny. He is playing such a good game that even I forgot that he was a traitor.

😂 hilarious isn’t it?

Doodledog Sat 24-Oct-26 07:07:54

That’s not really possible though, as the traitors have the role thrust upon them, one way or another. It’s not about who is ‘likely’ to be a traitor in the way it might be in a ‘real life’ scenario.

I’m sure I would be hopeless, as I am far too trusting. If someone is kind to me I assume they are a decent person, and that can be far from the truth.

Chestnut Sat 24-Oct-26 00:20:57

Oh dear, I actually fell asleep just before the Round Table which tells me this series is not as good as before. The Faithful are just as gormless as ever. They should just choose the people they think are LEAST likely to be Traitors, then they would get the right people!

Daddima Fri 23-Oct-26 23:45:19

Surely Kenny will now vote Sharon off, as she did correctly name the three traitors?

Yes, I am enjoying the Uncloaked programmes 😀

Am afraid I am losing my patience a bit, now we have to wait till next week to see who they voted for and this lot are going to vote every faithful off before someone has a lightbulb moment when it is whittled down to so few of them that they must realise how they’ve been played.

The Traitors might as well go on holiday and let the Faithfuls use their collective pea brains to wipe one another out. Stop listening to James Blunt!!! Could they be more useless?

On the upside, Miranda was very funny on Uncloaked.

I actually enjoy the waiting till the next episode as opposed to streaming all episodes

Then again I am as deep as the most shallow puddle.

Casdon Fri 23-Oct-26 21:36:31

I think the light was dawning for Romesh by the end tonight, judging by his face.

I think Sharon. Whichever, they are both Faithfuls, so another frustrating evening for all except the 3 Traitors
