New thread.

Very true! grin

Charleygirl5 Fri 12-Jun-26 08:26:14

I can't stand Carl and this Idris character is up to no good. Where does he work and live?

At least we have an hour's viewing tonight so with luck we will make more sense of it.

I have no idea what Gary and Sarah are hiding. I thought they were having a secret affair but now I am not so sure.

I agree, everything is dragged out too long we lose the will to live when we do discover the perpetrator.

EllieAnne Fri 12-Jun-26 18:23:22

I’m beginning to wonder if Sarah killed Theo and Gary is helping her cover it up.

Doodledog Fri 12-Jun-26 18:38:32

Well, Sarah has homicidal form, doesn't she? And she was married to Todd (or was she? They lived together and had a baby, anyway, who died soon after birth), and she was with Gary for a while, too, so it would fit that she'd be protective of Todd, and that Gary would be protective of her.

They's be hopeless in MI5 though. All that eye contact and raised eyebrows would raise the suspicions of enemy agents in short order. All they ned is newspapers with holes cut out to look through.

nanaK54 Fri 12-Jun-26 22:19:13

That made me cry, poor Sam

Doodledog Fri 12-Jun-26 22:33:23

Yes, it was very well done. I don't know how you cope when a loved one goes through something like that.

MG55 Fri 12-Jun-26 22:53:22

Poor Sam but so glad that he is now receiving help at last.
There are so many threads on the go now!!

Charleygirl5 Fri 12-Jun-26 23:04:47

It was so good watching an hour's episode for a change. I do wish we could revert.

Sarah is looking very shifty, I wonder if she killed Theo?

At least Summer is out and about again.

Doodledog Fri 12-Jun-26 23:24:12

Yes, I’d rather have two hour-long episodes than five half-hour ones. I’d prefer them to go back to 7.30 though.

BlueBelle Sat 13-Jun-26 03:44:10

Sam has definitely come into his own and did a great job acting
tonight I always found his acting fairly weak but he did really well in these more dramatic scenes 👏👏👏

Calendargirl Sat 13-Jun-26 06:51:43

Why does everyone have to go to the Rovers after major events?

If I were Summer, having spent 3 weeks in prison for a non offence, I would be happy to sit quietly at home and just ‘chill’, instead of dashing out at the first opportunity.

Todd seems to have plenty of cash for drinks, seeing as he never seems to be working.

Ronnie also must have money to burn, arranging holidays for gangs of Debbie’s friends. What work is he supposed to do? I thought a while back he and Ed were building houses somewhere, did that all get completed?

EllieAnne Sat 13-Jun-26 14:59:38

Calendar girl Ed seems to have disappeared like his wife did!
Kevin and Abby have gone too.

Charleygirl5 Sun 14-Jun-26 13:12:50

I agree, 7.30 pm is for me a much better time to start. Showing 30 minutes and even less with ads makes it so bitty.

Aveline Sun 14-Jun-26 14:29:35

Maybe after several weeks of one hour episodes they'll see how popular they are and stick to that format? Fingers crossed.

Lovetopaint037 Mon 15-Jun-26 22:49:44

Tonight’s episode was an hour long and I hoped for better things. The so called “holiday” cooked up for Debbie was ridiculous and I felt sorry for the cast. As for the Carl/Kevin drama, well it can’t get any worse.Poor Sam, sectioned and Nick distraught well that hasn’t helped. Elsie Tanner and Ena Sharples how I miss you.

harrigran Tue 16-Jun-26 07:50:41

The storylines are ridiculous at present, would middle aged women really behave like that ?
I find Debbie so irritating I have to fast forward her scenes.
Coronation street is one of the reasons I record programmes rather than watching them live.

Charleygirl5 Tue 16-Jun-26 08:43:07

I agree, Debbie is too OTT at present and last night, for me, was an hour of rubbish. Has Todd given up work?

Maggiemaybe Tue 16-Jun-26 09:13:32

I found the holiday OTT too. There have been some funny and touching scenes in the past with Debbie and “the girls” - one where she was being pushed around in a shopping trolley made me laugh - but this was just too daft for words. As for Carl, I can’t keep track of his character. I actually thought he’d gone back to Germany weeks ago but that must just have been wishful thinking.

Calendargirl Tue 16-Jun-26 09:23:09

Yes, the ‘holiday’ was just plain daft.

Kept expecting poor Ryan to suddenly start ‘stripping’ in one of his many outfits.

It was cringeworthy.

Surprised Summer couldn’t remember Fiz being in prison, seeing as most of the residents have resided at HM’s pleasure at some time or other.

Can’t recall what her offence was though.

Probably making fun of the scriptwriters and the lines all the cast are forced to regurgitate.

Devorgilla Tue 16-Jun-26 22:24:45

Thankfully the girls' party should now be over and everyone can return to normality. A total waste of time. Are we to assume the scales have fallen from Carl's eyes and he is now a reformed character? With luck, Fiona will drag him off to pastures new. And now there is a loaded gun in the mix.

Calendargirl Wed 17-Jun-26 07:04:08

How convenient that crazy Jodie was loitering about just when Carl hid the gun.

Why on earth do David and Shona allow her to wander about their home at will? As for that business with the dog poo….yuk! Who on earth puts it in the house bin?

Will Carl somehow end up getting shot, maybe saving Debbie in some last ditch hero moment?

Who knows, and do we care?

BlueBelle Wed 17-Jun-26 07:12:53

Although I love Debbie that pretend holiday was awful
The Sam story is now getting ridiculous medication takes weeks and weeks of adjustments to start doing any good (if it does at all) it certainly doesn’t spring into action over night after one dose. Neither would his diagnosis have been made on his first visit to the hospital
I found myself doing a jigsaw while the garage stuff was going on, another silly storyline Hopefully Carls on his way out
Couldn’t he fall in love with Jodie and they and their crimes can live happily somewhere else

vegansrock Wed 17-Jun-26 10:42:57

Betsy looked much better with blonde hair , didn’t recognise her at first. The “girls holiday” was ridiculous - was it in the hotel? Where were the other guests? How come they can magic up elaborate outfits at the drop of a hat? I knew that Sam would get immediate help for his psychiatric problems and not be put on a 12 month CAMHS waiting list,

Calendargirl Wed 17-Jun-26 10:58:57

I think Betsy’s hair makes her look very ordinary somehow, whereas Lauren is all tarted up now and overacting like mad.
Pretty though.

Never hear much about Frankie, Harper has obviously taken over the latest ‘baby in hospital’ scenario.

Hope Betsy soon goes off to the ‘London College Of Fashion’.
‘Oh, you worked so hard!’

Not sure when the ‘work’ took place, as she always seemed to be skiving off college and the factory.

Charleygirl5 Wed 17-Jun-26 11:05:43

Few people, other than Roy appear to do a day's work. Has Todd given up working?
