I normally like Liane Moriarty books but finding The Last Anniversary a real struggle. Think I’m giving up on it.

I did give up on it, one episode was enough.

I binged watched it yesterday and didn’t enjoy it.

I watched State of Happiness and found it very engaging and relaxing. The characters are very believable.
Definitely would watch Last Tango in Halifax again too.

Yes, Carl is great. All his motley little crew are. So many twists. Anyone who doesn't like violence though should be warned. Creepy stuff too. Lips are sealed now. Just binge watched the next three episodes. Must discipline myself to watch no more until Tuesday night when TV is usually rubbish. That's what I like about Neighbours. It's my 20 minutes of escapism four days a week after morning chores and lunch. And I can't binge watch.

Creepy...no. I've binge watched Secrets we keep and finding the teenage social media stuff a bit distressing, tho my, a gripping plot.

I can watch "shoot em up" thrillers tho that dont disturb but they lack depth of character. Still looking for my type of film or series like Runaway Jury or "Hidden Figures" or "United Kingdom" (all Netflix).

Wyllow3, glad you enjoyed Secrets we keep. Teenage stuff reflects issues growing up but wasn't too gory I felt. Power of the peer group. If you don't mind the violence Dept.Q defo worth it. Creepy stuff not too gruesome and essential part of plot.

I've started watching Code of silence (ITV). Promising a deaf young women who can lip read getting involved for the police tracing a gang - but getting over involved - certainly really holds attention but again its "vulnerable people in danger"..so I had to look up the ending to make sure I could watch it!

I’m watching it now, I agree it’s a brilliant series, but I did get the female characters mixed up a bit at first but all sorted now. Well worth watching.

I agree that it is excellent television, but am annoyed by the changes to plot and characters from the book, which is much better than the Netflix version.
It is very disconcerting to find that Denmark has become Scotland!

I have become completely addicted to The Good Wife on Channel 5 catch up. There are 7 series and I have ploughed through all of them over the last month or so. It's American but has several British actors in leading roles, and is very well acted, scripted and filmed.

I've just started watching The Better Sister on Prime. Looks a possible next binge.
Sometimes I find I glimpse at a series but am not really in the mood for that type of genre at that time and don't go back. Posters have jogged my memory on some like that so perhaps a few worth another chance.

Upthread I asked, "Still looking for my type of film or series like Runaway Jury or "Hidden Figures" or "United Kingdom" (all Netflix).

Found a film that I was really engaged with, not quite the same sort but has the powerful redemptive ending - its on Netflix - rather than try to summarise I'd read this synopsis:

Sophia Loren at well it must be 80 brilliant and the young boy who plays the lead superb.

Finished Dept Q last night. Ending not what I had expected when I first started to watch, but good twist. Thank you Mamie, for flagging up that there are others by same writer out there. I didn't know it was based on a book. Looks like I can get them on the kindle. Now I have to find something new to watch. Will give 'The Better Sister' another go.

Very hight ratings, if you like a spot of world cinema its the story of a very poor, farming family Indian child born blind who overcomes incredible odds with help from some lovely people and ends up leading industry - challenging attitudes along the way…
Funny and heart warming too.

Yes, Sakira is defo eye candy. My only reservation is that I can't watch it in bed as can't read captions easily. About to watch next episode.

I am enjoying Maryland on ITVX. It's a family drama, so a nice change from the usual murder mystery, crime type dramas so prevalent now. Much of the action takes place on the Isle of Man, though I'm not sure how much of the actual filming was done there.

Just finished watching the fourth series of Clarksons Farm. Absolutely brilliant. Okay, Jeremy has the money to buy whatever he wants on the farm which I’m sure many farmers don’t but it’s shown how difficult farming is when they are so reliant on the right weather conditions. Can’t wait for the next series.

We were most impressed by Harriet, the young woman who was a temporary replacement for Kaleb. She was very knowledgeable, practical and a great asset.

Apparently she is also a full-time community nurse as well as farmer.

Just watching Mansfield Park on iplayer. 1983 I think. Acting a little stilted but okay if you like Jane Austin
