Any recommendations for a bit of escapism or good nail biting dramas?
Have just watched MISSING on Netflix ..very good with a daughter using her tech savvy skills tries to find her mom who goes missing on a holiday with a new boyfriend…

Just finished Cra brilliant. On iPlayer. The Chelsea detective on drama ,Sister Boniface,. Strike of course. Astrid in Paris in French . Crimson River ,Professor T all on Walter presents need to read subtitles. I don't watch the British versions of Professor T or Patience British version of Astrid .

A new series of The White Lotus starting in early Feb I think, may be on Sky?

Boz Thu 30-Jan-25 17:02:54

I wonder if W.Lotus will be the same without the wonderful Jennifer Coolidge. Will watch anyway as very funny.

Not a bit funny, although it has a vague pretention to be, is Ice Cold Murders on Walter Presents 4. Another world-weary policeman (is there any other kind) in Northern Italy. I shall be glad to finish it.

I'll second the Day of the Jackal and the Tower.
Now watching DI Ray on ITVX- it starts off looking a bit narrow in themes and stories but soon broadens out.
Don't miss Slow Horses.
All GsNetters' other suggestions duly noted .
These threads are😊😊 really helpful.

Oh and Cra was excellent.
Also watching The Bear on Disney. It's good , no doubt about it, but I don't think it deserves all the Hoopla its had. A bit, but not all.
Don't tell the DH. He thinks that its unreservedly brilliant !

I've just finished The Crow Girl on Paramount. I was hooked from the start, would recommend.
There will be a second series, soon I hope.

I don't buy TV channels but find plenty to watch on Freeview ones. Lot of free channels where you can watch TV progs and films just have to watch with ads like Freevee.etc.

I don't have Netflix and we recently got rid of Sky so I've added some apps to my tv, I downloaded the STV app and can usually find something to watch on there. There are all types of programmes, some oldies and also newer ones.
Also added the U app, rather than trawl through the tv guide to find the different channels on the freeview they are all in one place.
Record some from Freeview so I can whizz through adverts.
