I was pleased to see this was back with a new series last night but what a horrible ending.

Is this how Will is going to be written out? ☹️

Conan Doyle became involved in defending a young man whose father was Asian and a vicar (I do mean CD not Sherlock Holmes)

You're absolutely right! And the father was a vicar in the 1800s.
Quote:
St Mark's is the parish church of Great Wyrley, South Staffordshire, England. It is known for having had the first South Asian vicar of any Church of England parish, Shapurji Edalji, and for its association with Edalji's son George, who was falsely convicted on a charge of injuring a pony, and cleared after the intervention of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Yes, of course!

Staffordshire is always progressive 😁

But is Grantchester?

Julian Barnes wrote a novel about the Edalji case - "Arthur and George".

Grantchester even sillier tonight.

Is Cathy’s hair a wig? It never looks right somehow.

The hospital - this is just a farce.

It seems like they wanted to tie up all the storylines with a pretty bow and finish on a happy note, which they did. I know it was nonsense but at least it left us feeling a bit more cheerful. It has all been gloom and doom these last few weeks so it was nice to have a happy ending. Love and peace. 🧡🌈

It was laughable.

Back in the late 50’s, or whenever it’s now meant to be set, I don’t think the new dad would be parading his new baby out in the hospital corridor for half the village to gawp at. This wouldn’t have happened when our first baby was born, and that was 1972.

The baby looked quite small at the christening, then suddenly looked much bigger when Will and Geordie were chatting, I assume not that much later as they were discussing the christening.

And as for Mrs C suddenly being transformed into Julie Andrews, complete with children marching in line behind her…. Expected them to break into ‘DoeRayMe’ or ‘Edelweiss’.

What a load of tripe. James Runcie must have watched it with his head in his hands.

I was like they had no idea how to end the series?
Wrap it all up in neat boxes, if there is another series we can start again?
All a bit crackers last night.
