I must admit, as a series, it had to grow on me.
To start with I thought it was really silly with daft, unbelievable characters, but gradually I grew to see its appeal.
Yes the silly characters are still there, the useless policeman, the woman permanently in a neck brace and the giggling teenage girls who walk past the doctor’s house, but if you accept all that and don’t take it too seriously, it’s an enjoyable bit of escapism.
We’ve been to Port Isaac many times when we’ve been in Cornwall, and I enjoy spotting the various buildings featured.
It’s a shame this new series will be the last.
