Weeping and wailing - and wiping.

This is intended to be light hearted but I have just watched yet another programme episode where someone has got very upset, cried, and spent the next ten minutes gulping, sobbing, trying to talk and all the while wiping their nose and eyes all over their hands and face. Does nobody EVER have a tissue? It doesn't seem to matter if they are sobbing alone or in company, they sit with tears (and worse) rolling down their faces and then they start to wipe the contents of their nose and all the tears everywhere. DH has got fed up with me shouting 'Oh for goodness sake - somebody give her a tissue!' Does this annoy anyone else? Is there any other often repeated annoyance on TV that anyone else gets cross about that I could try getting niggly about too, given the opportunity?

I would be carted off, weeping, wailing and still protesting grin

You are absolutely right, Sarahelenwhitney. It's absolutely everyone's choice as to how many rooms they want. Actually, I've got too many rooms here really, so I can't talk! Tootle pip.

But would you have a hankie or a tissue Jalima?

cwasin probably not, so there would have been a bit of sleeve wiping for all to see on the telly.

What winds me up about Escape to the Country is when they show the house hunters property that is ONLY £50k above their budget, where do they expect them to suddenly find that sort of money? Ridiculous!

Also, and I might get shot for saying this, but is anyone else sick to the back teeth of seeing gay couples, usually men, kissing in just about every soap on TV. I don't have a problem with people's sexuality, but I certainly don't want it thrust under my nose every night when I turn on the telly. From the amount of stuff about gays on TV these days, we're beginning to think that they're taking over the world!

Not taking over the world, just being part of the world

NudeJude yes, I too thought gays were a minority. It seems not.....

There was a gay couple (men) on ETTC just the other day, and one of them cried with joy when he saw the kitchen ( cue much eye rolling from DH) grin however it's just as annoying when women do that ( an Aga! Sob!? )

I saw them (briefly) and was horrified!

The kitchen cupboards they said they loved were like mine and I am so fed up with them and want a new kitchen - they can have them if they like grin

I will give them away .....
