At last, something I can eagerly anticipate each week!

rosesarered Tue 03-Jan-17 09:37:22

I have set tv up to record this series, hope it's good.

Teetime Tue 03-Jan-17 09:38:34

I didn't enjoy this I thought the script was poor and the characters were stereotypes-let's hope it picks up.

Marmark1 Tue 03-Jan-17 09:39:04

Sorry I too was looking forward to it,but was very disappointed, don't think I'll bother next week.

merlotgran Tue 03-Jan-17 09:50:25

I enjoyed it. It's a bit Downton meets Upstairs Downstairs but because it's set in WW2 I think will get more interesting.

tanith Tue 03-Jan-17 10:34:13

I watched for a few minutes but was also disappointed so I won't be watching again.

Mumsy Tue 03-Jan-17 11:16:43

I found there was too much jumping in the program or was it because I kept nodding off grin

Greyduster Tue 03-Jan-17 11:29:42

I was disappointed too. I'm afraid I thought it was dull. Hope it picks up.

grannylyn65 Tue 03-Jan-17 11:32:20

Too similar to 'Hotel' sagas !

merlotgran Tue 03-Jan-17 11:42:15

I suppose that's because it is a hotel saga hmm

Elrel Tue 03-Jan-17 12:09:22

Merlot - lol?!!

rosesarered Tue 03-Jan-17 12:13:56

I like hotel sagas! grin

phoenix Tue 03-Jan-17 12:35:30

The format reminded me of Mr Selfridge in many ways.

grannylyn65 Tue 03-Jan-17 16:49:53

That's what I meant confused!

Ana Tue 03-Jan-17 17:46:44

But...Mr Sefridge was about a department store...confused

Ana Tue 03-Jan-17 17:47:47

Not a hotel, grannylyn

J52 Tue 03-Jan-17 18:18:25

Not very engaging! Nothing beats the good old 'Duchess of Duke Street' way back when!

Luckygirl Tue 03-Jan-17 20:27:25

Just watched it on catch-up and I rather enjoyed it. Undemanding, good acting - I will stick with it I think. I am up for being entertained.

whitewave Tue 03-Jan-17 20:32:15

That's something else I fancy as well. Sometimes you just need easy viewing and nothing to challenge you

Jalima Tue 03-Jan-17 20:52:22

We're recording it so we can skip the adverts!

We didn't watch Mr Selfridge although my friend loved it.

chelseababy Tue 03-Jan-17 21:21:03

I thought of Mr Selfridge too....the son and the receptionist?

Lona Tue 03-Jan-17 22:43:47

I enjoyed it. I like mindless entertainment sometimes ☺

Jane10 Wed 04-Jan-17 09:26:17

I enjoyed the BBC post war drama also set in a hotel 'Close to the enemy'. It was a bit odd and intriguing.

grannylyn65 Wed 04-Jan-17 12:33:42

??

ginny Wed 04-Jan-17 15:58:27

I enjoyed it and will keep watching. Sunday evening is a perfect time for something just to watch and not think about too much.
