Apologies if this bothers grannylyn but it seems 2016 has not given up on claiming our great comic actors.
RIP Andrew Sachs

A man of many talents it seems; and how I laughed at Manuel, with his slightly hunched, perplexed scurrying, his efforts with English, trying to do the right thing but failing miserably. What a comic creation, what a good man, and yes, worth so much more than those two pathetic self serving morons who tormented him some years ago.

Manuels' most memorable line from Fawlty Towers, for me, was:
"He put bloody MINCE in it". ( referring to a so called Paella made by a new Chef ).
It still makes me smile just remembering it. Classic.
RIP Andrew and thanks for the memories.

What a lousy year this has been for celebrity deaths. I know Andrew Sachs was 86, but still...

I watched Fawlty Towers with my mum, then with my husband and kids, then my grandkids. I saw the episodes so many times but they always made me smile. Manuel was such an adorable character. "No, no, is my Siberian pedigree hamster..."

Rest in peace, Mr Sachs.
